Second Day as a Candidate, Cruz Jabs at Bush Over Immigration

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas hasn’t wasted much time in seeking to distinguish himself from his potential rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, taking issue with Jeb Bush on Tuesday for his position on immigration and implicitly criticizing the former Florida governor for treating “voters as children.”
Mr. Cruz made the comments in an interview with the radio host Laura Ingraham, during which the host, a strong critic of Mr. Bush on immigration, continually goaded Mr. Cruz until he engaged.
“If you wanna beat Jeb, you’re gonna have to hit Jeb,” Ms. Ingraham told Mr. Cruz.
“Laura, I think that if my time in Washington has demonstrated anything, it’s that I’m not afraid to take other people on,” Mr. Cruz said. “But I also think at this stage of the race, Jeb is not a declared candidate.”
But when Ms. Ingraham later pressed him to comment on Mr. Bush’s position on overhauling immigration — “Jeb says he has the grown-up plan, senator” — Mr. Cruz engaged.
“I will say this. I haven’t seen a whole lot of politicians have success when they treat the voters as children,” Mr. Cruz said. “That’s a strategy we’ve seen Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton follow, and I think were far better off respecting the voters and indeed, I think the key to turning this country around is energizing and mobilizing an army of courageous conservatives all over this country.”

“mobilizing an army of courageous conservatives all over this country.
A phrase that strikes fear into all the Leftists and Global Warming Scam peddlers in the country. They are like smug jr. High school kids that know that what they're doing is wrong and hate the adults for pointing it out.

Ted Cruz is the closest thing we are going to get to voting for someone who will at least try to stop the invasion.
It is not immigration when they break in.

Jeb Bush is way too extreme on his support for illegal invader amnesty.
It is pretty obvious that he is the stalking horse for another Chamber of Amnesty-favored Blue Dog Republican that will be declaring his run for the presidency soon.
Time to call out those Blue Dogs that refuse to heel before their American citizen masters!

I would like Cruz to say what exactly he doesn’t like about Jeb Bush’s plan on immigration. “Grown-up” vs “not grown-up” doesn’t tell me anything.

Cruz made clear yesterday and last night that controlling the borders is first, then he'll discuss how to deal with the 10-30+ million illegal aliens infesting (my word, not his) the US. I worry that he won't have the stomach to deal with this and deport them. Time will tell if he hardens that position.
I also have not heard his position on Obama's 2012 amnesty. Will he reverse and deport the nightmare "dreamers"? What's his plans for them?
And, then, what about H1B? He is on the record support increasing H1B to 500K, much like Romney who said the more the merrier. Does Cruz still think we need half-a-million workers from India and elsewhere every year to take American jobs at home and drive American wages down?
I have donated to Cruz campaign but am watchful and listening before I jump fully aboard.

True, but it does mean the headline is false. Cruz is jabbing at Jeb over rhetoric, not immigration per se.

IMHO, Immigration is a winning issue. The vast majority of Americans want the border secured before any reform and that is where the Republicans should start!
The problem we have today is because in the late 80’s we granted Amnesty with a promise to secure the border, we just did not secure the border. The “comprehensive reform’ they are trying to shove down our throats today will have the same effect as the Amnesty program of the 80’s only worse. By then so many Hispanics will hold office they will just create an open border....

If you want to hit Jeb where it hurts, do it by trashing Obama and the Dems in a way that wimpy establishment Jeb will not do.
Newt showed that’s how you win, last time, then promptly forgot his own lesson in Florida. Laura Ingraham was wrong - you don’t have to directly hit Jeb to beat Jeb.
To: Plummz
Cruz is not interested in running against the other Republicans...he is intersted in running against the Dems and the libs BETTER than any other Republican.
Watch this play out....
