One of the things I loved about Reagan, was how comfortable he was in his own skin. That is something that comes with age, deeply held and thought-out beliefs, and a very diversified experience.
And, it’s the thing that has always bothered me about our current President. He never seems comfortable - he seems to be always thinking about ‘how should a president walk’, or ‘how should a president descend from an airplane’...he has never seemed to know exactly who he IS enough to simply be Comfortable!
That signals to me that he is more concerned with his image, than with weighty matters of State ;-)
I want a President who actually cares about my Country, from a standpoint of really understanding it, its founding, and its Constitution.
I don’t need an Ideological president; I want an Idealistic one.

That, to me, is one of the fundamental traits of a true American president, and one which I've seen in Ted Cruz since the first time I saw him.
He's only reinforced my early perceptions of him, since then.
The times we're in demand such a person at the helm. Our nation is on a dangerous precipice, and needs a skilled, wise, and confident leader to steer us back from the brink.
