You are correct ansel12, 9YearLurker is well beyond a concern troll. Cruz has never supported legalizing any illegals. In response to the Gang of Eight bill, Cruz offered an amendment removing the path to citizenship. That’s not to say that he supported the rest of the bill. Cruz was merely exposing the hypocrisy of the sponsors. The sponsors said they were concerned about those living in the shadows. So Cruz correctly observed that you don’t need citizenship to come out of the shadows.
Ted Cruz NEVER advocated legalizing the status of illegals.
9YearLurker is attempting to suppress Cruz’s support. Who is he working for?
And I thanked you for the ping, while asking what it was you were claiming I was “wrong” about.
Certainly I haven’t hijacked this thread. I’ve defended myself and corrected flat-wrong statements like Praxeologue, here, claiming that Cruz has never advocated legalizing illegals.
Here’s a link to set the record straight despite the disinformation being spread here:

9YearLurker is one of the most obnoxious and repugnant of all internet types, the “concern troll”.
They hijack threads with their “I love the guy but......” diversions and attacks.
You can’t argue the facts, so you accuse me of being a “concern troll”.
I’ve stated my reasonable and considered opinion fairly and accurately. I am not trying to sugarcoat an attack on Cruz by falsely claiming he’s the best candidate so far appearing to run.
So just cut out the false attacks—including that I am “hijacking” the thread by defending myself against your false attacks.
LOL, what a dedicated troll you are.
“You cant sign up for government benefits, which a majority of illegals get currently, without being strong-armed to register to vote.”
If the person is a citizen, can’t stop the person from registering to vote. If the person is an illegal alien, person can’t register to vote. The person could go to a poll and insist on voting, but again that person would have to vote a Provisional Ballot which would be thrown out by the Early Voting Ballot Board. Do some fall through the cracks, I’m sure it happens, but I reject the idea many millions of illegals are actually registered to vote.
You could see someone voting a Provisional Ballot and not know it was a Provisional Ballot and you would think he/she is voting a real ballot. If you see a ballot being placed in an envelope, it’s a Provisional Ballot which is not counted until the paperwork is evaluated by the Early Voting Ballot Board.
I will tell you this - Jim Robinson will not put up with a major concern troll like 9YearLurker about Cruz. If Lurker keeps this up, expect a major zot at some point - I’ve seen it happen more than once.
Do you realize that Obama is handing out SS cards like trick or treat candy?
Here are a couple of links for you:
But matter anyway, since Cruz’s legalized illegals—and those who come in on their chain migration coattails—will be voting as actual US citizens soon enough.
“Do you realize that Obama is handing out SS cards like trick or treat candy?”
Do you realize, even if he did, one cannot use a SS card as proof of identity or use it to register to vote?

The NY Slimes article that you cite was taken out of context and did not quote Cruz, but actually paraphrased him incorrectly. I stand by my initial observation, which was:
In response to the Gang of Eight bill, Cruz offered an amendment removing the path to citizenship. Thats not to say that he supported the rest of the bill. Cruz was merely exposing the hypocrisy of the sponsors. The sponsors said they were concerned about those living in the shadows. Rather than respond to facts, you merely regurgitate Leftist untruths.
It is not the conservatives doing the flip flopping. The GOP loves the illegal immigration almost as much as they like H1B visas.
You offer no evidence, whereas I offer a substantial NYTimes article.
But you want him to be quoted directly? Here are a couple of videos, where he advocated permanent legal status:

You seem to be oblivious to Sen. Cruz's strategy in proposing to delete a path to citizenship from the 2013 Gang of Eight bill. Sen. Cruz's objective was to flush out, force out into the open, the Gang of Eight's true goal of citizenship and therefore voting rights to vote for Democrats. Cruz's amendment removed the one thing that the Democrats wanted, but could not publicly admit that they wanted: voting rights for illegals. Cruz left the other provisions, which gave the Democrats all their public talking points, such as the coming out of the shadows nonsense. By opposing Cruz's amendment, the Gang of Eight were forced to lay bare their true agenda of adding Democrat voters to the rolls. It should be obvious to anyone that Sen. Cruz never thought that Harry Reid would accept his amendment or that anyone would think that Sen. Cruz supported the entire balance of the Bill. This was a tactic, a smart tactic, to expose Democrat duplicity. Several comments to your linked article pick up on this.
Senate proceedings cannot be taken literally; they need context.
Doesn’t matter—he has clearly said he wants to give them a path to legalization, and he even uses the creepy Bush/McCain “out of the shadows” language while talking about it.
Meanwhile, if someone asks him such specifics now, while running for president, he deflects the query with talking about securing the border or not granting citizenship. He is pro-amnesty for the 20M+ illegals in the country today. That will lead not only to their voting and draining our federal coffers, but through chain migration approximately 3x as many leftist, Latin voters here in no time.
You either don't get it or refuse to get it. Either way, you are a lost cause.
As long as he says the same things in Spanish that he says in English there shouldnt be a problem. Its not like Romney wbo had different core beliefs in different states
If he does that then the GOP deserves to disappear
All they have to do is lie to be able to vote, the.chance of prosecution is very slim
In many states you can.use an electric bill to registet to vote
