According to a recently released internal memo, Starbucks baristas will no longer write "Race Together" on customers' cups starting Sunday.
Starbucks spokesman Jim Olson says the campaign to create discussion on diversity and racial inequality will continue without the handwritten messages, which are phasing out as originally planned.

Why is coffee black? That’s racist.

Translation: The experiment in social engineering failed, and profits slumped.
Another Lib idea enters the Failed column.
I’ll bet it hurt sales. Almost anything a commercial operation does that is social and outside its normal business is bound to annoy one group or another. However, I doubt Starbucks had a large number of conservative customers anyway.
As far as I’m concerned, Starbuck’s can continue on with their stupidity as I don’t patronize them as their coffee’s overrated and especially overpriced.
I have a nice little coffee shop up the street from me that’s privately operated and their coffee’s just as good and the price isn’t inflated.
Oh, and did I mention, the Asian girls that run it are cute:-)
Too late. I have left and will never return. Peter Drucker wrote that the only reason for a company to exist is to create a customer and then keep him. Starbucks is systematically slicing away their customers.
This guy is no more than a street bully with money. He thinks he is smarter than you and that you should live according to the tenets of his view of morality. Like a grand saloon in a dusty Westerner town, huge storefront facade, very small building in rear.

Raaaaciss....!!!!
The CEO is a good businessman. He needs to make coffee and STFU.
Do it for the shareholders.
I don't seek out Starbucks, but if they're handy and I want coffee, I'll get a cup. They seem to be in a lot of public spaces now, not just their own storefronts. Hospitals, malls, etc.
But I wouldn't want to carry that around with me.
I haven’t seen it on my cups, but if I ever see it, I’ll demand another cup free and clear of that slogan, or any slogan someone writes on it. I’ll bring my own cup if I have to ... LOL ...
I’ve got a few Starbucks cups I’ve bought which are hard plastic and they give you a discount if you get coffee in those cups ... :-) ...
He has also stated if you don’t support gay marriage, you can sell your shares and buy elsewhere.
I bet a Liberal at Starbucks got a Bonus for the Great Idea ,LOL
Nice! Where do you get them?
I’ve never had a Starbucks beverage and never will.
Steve Jobs’ policy was that Apple would not promote GOP or Democrat issues and make Apple politically orientated ... because, he said ... Apple sells to Republicans and Democrats!
Their coffee just sucks! It's plain undrinkable black. McDonalds has much better coffee for a buck.
I'm sorry they ended it, I was hoping to go in, have them initiate a discussion of race with me and then go into a diatribe of all the racist policies and figures, and how they all happened to be DemocRATs...starting with the slave owners, the Confederacy and the Klan, the segregationists and all the RAT-votes against the Civil Rights Act.
