President Barack Obamas supposed congratulatory call to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, two days after the Likud leader triumphed in Israels elections, was actually a bitter 30-minute conversation, Israels two main TV news stations reported Friday night.
Quoting unnamed Israeli sources, they said the president made clear he didnt believe Netanyahu was genuinely supportive of a two-state solution to the Palestinian conflict, and that he indicated that the US would no longer automatically support Israel at the United Nations.
According to a Channel 10 read out on the call, indeed, Obama left Netanyahu with the impression that he intends to abandon Israel at the UN.
The United States has actually been considering a reevaluation of ties with Israel, including its automatic support for the Jewish state at the United Nations Security Council, for at least four months, the Israeli sources also told Channel 2. Although the White House claims the reassessment was prompted by Netanyahus remarks on Monday in which rejected the establishment of a Palestinian state and which he walked back Thursday that is not the case, according to the officials.
Channel 10 also said Netanyahu was adamant about keeping his ambassador to the US, Ron Dermer, in the job despite heavy American criticism.
Netanyahu backtracked on his no-to-Palestine comments earlier Thursday, saying he still supported a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution, but the White House swiftly dismissed his new, more moderate comments. Asked why the White House was not taking Netanyahu at his word, White House spokesman Josh Earnest retorted, I guess the question is: Which one? Earnest said the Obama administration did take Netanyahu at his word and understood that the prime minister does not envision a Palestinian state being established during his term in office.

And on the issue of ARABS In Israel, he made clear what his position HAS ALWAYS BEEN with Israeli Arab Citizens ... they have full rights of any citizen and they will be helped by various social programs as he has always done, and they will NOT be discriminated against. They are FULLY INTEGRATED into Israeli society!
BOTH of those things sounds EXACTLY like the Netanyahu from before and extremely fair. Israel should be EXTREMELY PROUD of Netanyahu as their Prime Minister!
Prime Minister Netanayahu gets SLAMMED by the Left and the New York Times ... AND ... and he gets SLAMMED by the Right and the Israeli papers ... LOL ...
AGAIN ... Netanyahus position on being very willing to negotiate with the PA and very willing in forming a Palestinian State has remained the SAME for years ... as he pointed out from his Bar-Ilan speech.
Netanyahu has never been the holdup on forming the Palestinian State, it has been the Palestinian Authority who has been the holdup. They dont want to get the Palestinian State through negotiations with Israel, but they want to get it from it being imposed from the outside without any conditions attached,
Obama left PM with impression Obama will abandon Israel at UN
The Obama Admimistration simply wants to cherry-pick a single statement, out of YEARS OF POLICY and ACTIONS by Israel and Netanyahu, to use as an EXCUSE to bring down the hammer on Israel and Netanyahu, something Obama has wanted to do all along!!
Sure ... Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there would be no Palestinian State if he was re-elected ... BUT ... he CORRECTED THAT, just hours later! Netanyahu maintains his long-standing policy of supporting the TWO-STATE SOLUTION, as long as Israels security issues are taken into account. He has said he will go anywhere, at any time, to meet with anyone to engage in the finals status agreement to form the Palestijian State!
In First Post-Election Interview Netanyahu Says He Supports Sustainable Two-State Solution, Never Changed His Policy

JNS.org - In his first interview with American media after his Likud partys election victory, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he supports a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state, if specific circumstances make that a realistic possibility.
I dont want a one-state solution, he said in an interview with NBC News. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution.
In a pre-election interview on Monday, Netanyahu had told the NRGwebsite that he would not support Israeli withdrawal from its territory to make room for a Palestinian state, due to the possibility of attacks by Islamic extremists.
I havent changed my policy, Netanyahu told NBC News on Thursday. I never retracted my speech at Bar-Ilan University six years ago calling for a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state.
Netanyahu said he believes circumstances have to change for there to be a Palestinian state, adding that current Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has made a pact with Hamas that calls for Israels destruction.
And every territory that is vacated today in the Middle East is taken up by Islamist forces, he said. We want that to change so we can realize a vision of real, sustained peace.
The U.S. State Department on Thursday said it cant forget what Netanyahu said about his position on a two-state solution earlier this week.
Certainly, the prime ministers comments from a few days ago called into question his commitment to that, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.
We believe he changed his position, she added. We cant forget about those [initial] comments.
The UN Security Council itself does not go to war, but they give the “justification” for it, if it’s in the language. However, something like this would start off with condemnations, then sanctions, and lastly war.
THEN it would take some countries who want to “take part” in a war. It’s not “required” by any UN Treaty that the countries are required to go to war ... so if no one shows up for the war, it’s not going to happen ... :-) ...

You got that right!
I got the same impression. The Little Snake is the worst leader of this nation...EVER.
I burn with shame for the degenerate we’ve twice put into the White House, for this country’s squalid media, for the revolting buffoons who have turned American academia into a moral and ideological sewer and the fact that we’re still a member of the corrupt, rank and vile United Nations. I burn with shame.
You feel it, too, huh? What I cannot fathom are the Christians that would follow this guy off the cliff into the sea.
Obama is traveling deep into anti-Christ territory here. Never thought I would say or believe that, but BO is that bad.
Agree.

There needs to be a postcard blitz on the White House with Genesis 12:3...
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3
I remember when Pat Buchanan had some disagreements with Israeli policy and was forever after labeled an anti-semite by the media. By that standard what does this make Obama?
