The San Francisco metropolitan area has the highest percentage of the adult population who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) of any of the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas, followed by Portland, Oregon, and Austin, Texas.
Variation in the percentage who identify as LGBT across the largest metro areas is relatively narrow, with San Francisco's percentage just 2.6 percentage points higher than the national average of 3.6%, and the lowest-ranked metro area -- Birmingham, Alabama -- one point below the national average.
The top 10 includes metro areas from every region of the country except the Midwest. Given the long history of a visible and politically active LGBT community in San Francisco, the city's ranking at the top of this list is not surprising. Similar to San Francisco, Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) like Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles in the West, and Boston in the Northeast, are known for their progressive social and political climates and active LGBT communities. Hartford is the capital of Connecticut, which has permitted same-sex couples to legally marry longer than every state except Massachusetts.

I live in Austin Texas.
There is a rather large along with a quite visible group of rug munchers and pickle chuggers in the city.
However they tend to live in the same neighborhoods among each other.
The 10% business always bothered me. Blacks make up 13% of the population. You can drive for miles through many big cities where everyone is black. The same is true for many rural areas in the south. But the gay parts of most cities are usually measured in blocks. There was never any way they could be amost as numerous as the black population.
Paging Capt. Obvious.
Hey, less than 2% Muslim are running this country. Of course it helps when the “president” and 1-1/2 of the political parties are closet muzzies.
The % in SFO is 6.2%.
The % in NBCCBSABCPBS is 62%.
Go figure.
How about a survey that asks:
“Do you identify as a white male with a normal, healthy libdo?”
Be interesting to see what that percentage is. Especially outside the liberal enclaves.
then nuke it again...and again...and again
94% of the people there are straight including my son and daughter that are school age, you want to murder them all?
Yayyyy!
By the way, folks, don’t ever go to Google and search images for “gay guys”. I won’t do that again. Yikes. My eyes! I deserve combat pay for my last post, and to treat my PTSD.
Birds of a feather... um...
Since “gay” is a wholly subjective identity, the figures could change tomorrow.
I have seen a few gay sites reading articles. I think if mainstream Americans saw some of that stuff, they would rethink this whole “gay marriage” thing. They are not normal, no matter how hard they try to make us believe they are.
San Fernasco also has the worlds largest communist/liberal/DemocRAT population. I’m pretty sure they all are connected to homosexuality and other forms of sexual disorientation.
San Francisco is “rankest” all right.
I waited all day just to learn of this!!!(sar.).
I was just looking at a poll the other day where Gallup asked people “What is the percentage of gays in America”?
The average answer was something like they thought 40% of people in America were gay! The media is doing a FABULOUS job.
I was commenting to my wife about this. Don’t people think? How many gay people do you know. (She started counting - it was eight). Okay, lets say it is 20 to cover those you forgot and maybe some closet gays.
Now - how many people do you know? We took a guess at 300 to 400.
And look at that - 20 out of 400 is 5%. (I’m guessing our number of 400 is low too).
Not for long, the Techies are pushing them out of the bay area. The locals are pretty ticked off about the straight white male geek community moving in and jacking up rents.
Check out SF as a world tourist destination...
Dil.... They have their own national park in NY. Fire Island National Seashore.
