SILAO, Mexico Jeb Bush often mentions his wifes family, how he fell in love with her in nearby León, and her immigrant challenges coming to the United States.
Only rarely and critically do the likely front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination or his aides mention his wifes father, José Maria Garnica Rodríguez.
Bush spokeswoman Kristy Campbell reiterated Tuesday that Columba Bushs father abandoned his family. Mrs. Bush did not have a relationship with her father after he left her mother and their family when Mrs. Bush was just a young teenager, she said. And published accounts, including one in The New York Times recently, largely have taken that line, calling him a migrant worker and nonpresence in his daughters life.
But relatives here say its not true.

"He continued: Thanks to my wife, I became bicultural and bilingual, and my life is better because of it."
Sorry, but your bi-national.
"her eyes get wet when she hears the Mexican national anthem."
Do her eyes get wet when she hears America's?
Just because Jebster fell in love with a Mexican and Mexico does not mean the rest of America has to surrender the rule of law and our country to them.
Jebster will never be President because of his insistence on amnesty, opposed by 65-70% of the citizens.
He will probably be the GOP nominee because the RNC has already been paid by The Cheap Labor Express for an amnesty candidate.
So?
Hopefully, the father-in-law has more intelligence than Jeb.
But then again, most everyone does.
This is what p*sses me off about politicians like Jeb Bush and Barack Obama.
Since when did we elect people to impose their own preferences on all of us?
What kind of ego thinks this is OK?
Just great. Jeb is married with a bigot Latino family, or at least the language goes with that.
And of course he pushes us into the corner of American-modesty in the face of brazen illegals and profiteering.
Globalist Bushists peddling their drugs and calling us isolationists are just as bad as democrats.
Her eyes get wet when she visits upscale fashion and accessory establishments is what I’ve heard. My guess is that Imelda Marcos didn’t/doesn’t have any edge over her in that department.
It is disgusting this fool got away from boarding school and home and fell for a Mexican local, and is now willing to sell the sovereignty of my grand daughters’ country down the river for it.
I don’t know what the voting equivalent is for “From My Cold Dead Hands” is, but I have it - absolutely certain and final. FUJB, go back to Mexico.
I do not care about Columba Bush’s convoluted family relationships. I do care that she tried to smuggle expensive, high fashion items into the country as First lady of Florida without declaring them to Customs and paying the required duty. I don’t thin she can plead bi-cultural ignorance of the law.
Jebbie’s exteme personal and emotional view of Mexico and the immigration issue is precisely why he should not be president. He is beyond unobjective.
If Jebinsky ‘fell in love’ with a moslim girl he would be pushing for sharia to be the law of the land right here in the US.
That would be an act of love for America, right Jeb?

This sort of policy-by-emotion is all over the place: My nephew was shot - ban guns! My cousin got addicted - ban drugs! Etc. ad nauseam.
I do not like Jeb in any way, and as president that big government liberal would be only very slightly better than the democrat big government liberal (Hillary), but I don’t see the relevance of this story. We should reject Jeb because he is a liberal who would expand FedGov, continue Obamacare, and push Amnesty, not because of details from his wife’s family.
Pants ?
bingo!
I thought the main secret was her father was an illegal alien with no documents and she is an anchor baby.
