President Obama, keynote speaker at the 130th annual Gridiron event.
President Obama took advantage of his unchallenged podium at the 130th annual Gridiron Club dinner to sideswipe the likes of Gov. Scott Walker, conservative former neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Fox News talking head Bill O’Reilly – as well as those who question the truth about his birth certificate.
Early in the presentation, Obama thanked Clarence Page, a columnist for the Chicago Tribune, for his years of friendship, saying they go “way back,” various media reported. And that’s when Obama made his first snipe at those who still wonder at the validity of his birth certificate.
“[We go] way back. Before he took office, he felt comfortable asking me for tips on being a successful black president,” Obama said. “And I told him, you want to keep your birth certificate handy.”
Shortly after, Obama directed his attention to Walker – and again, birth certificate doubters.
He said: “Scott has had a few recent stumbles. The other week he said he didn’t know whether or not I was a Christian. And I was taken aback, but fortunately my faith teaches us forgiveness. So, Governor Walker, as-salamu alaykum.”

He was exonerated because 100% of the Democratic Caucus, including two senators who let it be known they thought him guilty of perjury (Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and "Exalted Cyclops" Robert Byrd of W. Va.), voted to acquit on the facts presented. They were joined by iirc six Republicans, including the feeble Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and some other "Gang of 14" limp-wristers.

I’d love for Gov Walker to come back with a zinger, to that “swipe”.

Yes, that and the Indonesian passport that he kept rather than turn in, which he used to get student assistance from Arab benefactors.
If he did all that, he may have forfeited his U.S. citizenship. How 'bout them apples?
That has a ring to it (besides being possibly true) .... "The Six Percent Negro". Almost as good as writer Ehrenstein's "Magic Negro" -- who, in his construction, would use "absolution" of the white race of its reactionary ways and endogamous, inherent racism [it's genetic? -- but that would be racism!], to endear himself to white liberals.
But that's a pretty good bumper sticker. Stolen!

Ten Republicans voted Clinton not guilty of perjury and five Republicans voted not guilty of obstruction of justice. The votes were 45-55 on perjury and 50-50 on obstruction.
