You had healthcare coverage, now you are left bare. That is clearly George Bush’s fault - NOT
The goverment has to lock down malpractice scams and abuses to really get a handle on skyrocketing costs.
Same windfall to corporations as the 401K is... Cut the strings and the agreements.
Sadly, Hussein was so bent on destroying liberty and the Demon Rat party went along with Valerie’s charge.
We must continue to fight.
I don’t doubt a privatization of the health care system—free market capitalism—would improve the situation. But this development in the current “Nanny State” mindset is not necessarily beneficial.
Lots of businesses were more than eager to offload their employee health insurance costs onto the government.
Wait till they get a load of their future taxes.
The “government?”
Weren’t the insurance companies fighting the scams and fraud?
Just my wife and I was coming close to a week's pay and I couldn't justify paying so much money based on fear.
One of the primary goals of Ocare was to punish those who had the “privilege” of health insurance benefits through their employers.
No way would he actually want to EXPAND freedom by giving the same tax deductions to individuals buying insurance, though.
Now there’s really no need for Unions
What does this mean?
Here's the comparison I like to make. You have a car, you probably have car insurance. When you need to change the oil, or get new wiper blades, do you turn that claim into your auto insurance carrier. Nope. That's a silly economic model. You go find someplace that will do the job cheaply and efficiently because you are spending your money on a routine service.
It's just as silly with health care. Do it yourself; diet and exercise. Live healthy and take care of yourself. Don't overeat, smoke and drink excessively, and be lazy. And after that, don't expect that there is a pill in an orange bottle that is "free" that restores your health so that you can keep eating, drinking and smoking. It's your body. It has a cost of upkeep. Go pay for it.
Obola said from the beginning Obolacare was just a stepping-stone to single-payer, meaning the government owns all health care dollars.
“The goverment has to lock down malpractice scams and abuses to really get a handle on skyrocketing costs.”
Medicare fraud, tort reform and buying across state lines.
New bill. 2 pages, 3 tops. Pass it and send it to the senate.
We joined a Christian healthcare co-op a few years ago. It’s so much better than any insurance we had. Many of our friends and family members have also joined after comparing it to their employer provided coverage.
These simple changes would immediately force price transparency as well as dramatic price reductions in the only area of the market for which people buy things with no clue as to what they cost. The result would be that people would be able to pay cash for 90% of their routine medical expenses with no more worry than they have for any other type of household maintenance expense. And they could then buy actual insurance to cover unlikely but otherwise catastrophic medical events at reasonable cost the same way they buy fire insurance for their homes.
“Don’t overeat, smoke and drink excessively, and be lazy.”
Good grief, man! You wiped out the bottom of my food pyramid.
That would be the very best way to fix this problem which began when unions negotiated health benefits as a way to circumvent WW2 wage controls.
Separating the user from the payer led to massive price inflation.
First there is "Health Maintenance." Majoring in the minor health issues, urgent care, diet and exercise and good eating habits, etc...
Second there is "Health Insurance." Majoring in major shock losses due to injury and disease conquering and emergency procedures that stop threats to life and limb...
Third and finally, there is catastrophic and hopelessly expensive losses that would simply bankrupt most American people without a doubt.
Now hear this!!! Obamnable government mandated monstrosities like EVERY single Demonicrat GovernMental supposed benefit from this exercise in futility called "The Affordable Care Act," back through the whole litany of "programs/wars" like the war on poverty and too many other nonsensical schemes and memes to enumerate in this comment have ALL been EXERCISES IN FUTILITY!!!
