Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Bob Corker (R-TN) say they will opposed President Obamas attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch.
I will vote against President Obamas nomination of Loretta Lynch for attorney general of the United States, Alexander said in a statement.
He explained that he intends to use his vote against Lynch to protest Obamas executive amnesty.
This is an opportunity, within the Senate rules, to express my disapproval of the presidents abuse of executive authority, and its an opportunity I intend to take, he said.
Corker voiced concern that Lynch would not be independent enough within the administration.
The job of the U.S. attorney general is to enforce federal laws as written, not as the administration wishes they were written, Corker said.
Corker added that although he is impressed by Lynchs resume, he cannot support her.
While I believe Ms. Lynch is an impressive attorney and a committed public servant, nothing revealed during our personal meeting or at her confirmation hearing has assured me that she will be an independent attorney general and refrain from selective enforcement of the law, and therefore I will not be supporting her confirmation, he said.

Lamar got permission, so the approval must be in the bag.
“Lamar got permission, so the approval must be in the bag.”
Pretty much. Yup. We know how the game is played. Nevertheless, it’s interesting that two moderates who are not up for reelection are voting against her. Sometimes the undercurrents can be telling.
Any GOP that votes to confirm Lynch needs to be toted out of town on a rail.
WTH? Were they all drunk and miss the November 14 election?
I know that lobby money comes in handy, but as Lugar found out, you have to go home some day.
I wonder if I will keep my 1,000 batting average. I say yes.
That is what I figure, too. Lynch will be nominated with all the Rats voting for her and at least 6 RINOs.
Took long enough for them to take this ‘principled’ stand.
I guess Lindsey, Hatch and Flake are still in the yes column, which is all they need with Biden to break a tie.
Juan bailed on them. Must have gotten some negative blowback and it’s time to hoodwink the Arizona voters again in 2016. Also time to ‘secure the border first’, again, for Juan’s third consecutive campaign.
Any thinking person and one who loves America would never vote for this person. She is trash.
Correction: also includes Collins of Maine.
He explained that he intends to use his vote against Lynch to protest Obamas executive amnesty.
This is an opportunity, within the Senate rules, to express my disapproval of the presidents abuse of executive authority, and its an opportunity I intend to take, he said.

Must be satire..
Both Alexander and Corker have pushed AMNESTY for years...
Unless her nomination is defeated, the entire senate will be blamed for appointing this lawless woman.
Individual no votes mean nothing.
The only thing that matters is win or lose.
Which means, in D.C., she will get 60-some votes.
Maybe they are being given a free vote, but since neither is up for re-election it seems like the leadership would want the no votes to be used by someone who would benefit.
“I will vote against President Obamas nomination of Loretta Lynch for attorney general of the United States, Alexander said in a statement””
Guess he is voting for her.
“That is what I figure, too. Lynch will be nominated with all the Rats voting for her and at least 6 RINOs.”

Amnesty McCain is voting against her too. He is running for re-election again.
See post 17 on McCain.
Yeah, it's not like we haven't seen this charade before.
It’s all we EVER see anymore.
