With the current state of education in the US, this is the youngest age at which the voter can discern between an R and a D.

This is certainly reasonable.
And, furthermore... if lots of folks vote in the afterlife, shouldn’t the beforelife be franchised as well? I think the latter would be very adamant about how they vote on some issues. For instance, abortion comes to mind.

From what I have witnessed, 16 year olds today have the maturity and education of 12 year olds of 50 years ago.

Why not make it 9 or 10? At that age many are already on drugs and are basically illiterate so that you can do like the third world,or MacDonalds print pictures on the ballots and bribe them with a hit or a Twinkie. One more time around and Obama won’t allow elections anyway.

Maybe it's time to move the voting age back to 21.
So many of the occupiers appeared to be in their teens.

Why not just be honest and limit all voting to registered Democrats and be done with it.

16 year olds have no business voting. For that matter, many adults have no business voting. Just another ploy by the left to make sure they can grab some sure votes.

Using two examples both endorsed by these Liberals: They are responsible enough to vote at 16, but not responsible enough to be expected to get health insurance on their own at 25.

Sixteen year olds in Louisiana can now register to vote when they get their driver’s license. Signed into law by Jindal.
