In a definitive disavowal of his Bar-Ilan two-state speech, prime minister makes last-minute attempt to draw voters from Bennett's Habayit Hayeudi.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhau said Monday that if he were to be reelected, a Palestinian state would not be created, in a definite disavowal of his 2009 speech, in which he had voiced support for the principle of two states for two peoples.
Netanyahu's remarks in an interview with the NRG website - which is owned by casino mogul Sheldon Adelson and tied with the settler newspaper Makor Rishon - were a last-minute attempt to pull right-wing voters away from Habayit Hayehudi.
"I think that anyone who moves to establish a Palestinian state and evacuate territory gives territory away to radical Islamist attacks against Israel," Netanyahu said. The left has buried its head in the sand time and after time and ignores this, but we are realistic and understand."
During the interview, Netanyahu declared that if the Zionist Union were to win the elections, "it would attach itself to the international community and do they bidding," including freezing construction in West Bank and East Jerusalem settlements, and cooperate with international initiatives to return Israel's borders to the 1967 lines.

Its not right to let foreign influences run their elections? Didn’t Bibi just go to a foreign nation and speak in front of their legislative body?
That's quite different than if he had spent millions of Israeli dollars and sent Israeli agents to defeat Obama.
He has come to realize the futility of trying to play nice with the Arab leadership on the West Bank and in Gaza. And he has also come to realize the extreme negative consequences of a recognized nation in those areas.Title of thread: " Netanyahu: If I'm elected, there will be no Palestinian state"
I think it would have better if he qualified that statement some.
I think he should have made it clear that he would not support a Palestinian State in any area that is part of Israel or ever HAS BEEN part of Israel.
Palestine was in mostly Arab areas, let them give Palestinians a "State" instead of insisting that they need to have all of Israel.
Hopefully Netanyahu can survive the Clinton Mafia/Obama Chicago Machine dirty tricks being played right at this moment in Israel and be victorious.
How hypocritical for Obama to denigrate the Congress by saying that Bibi should not give a speech to them because it may effect the elections in Israel, when his and Clinton's operatives are in Israel trying to steer the election results in the direction that is designed to set Israel up for destruction.
This administration should all be facing prison time for what they have done.
Watching in real time as a Navy Seal, an Ambassador and two other American Citizens are murdered when they could have done something about it should gain all of them (Obama, Clinton, Holder etc etc) the death penalty.
Of course the Ambassador had to die, I think if he lived he would have spilled the beans about Obama and crew arming terrorists.
Enemies foreign and domestic...Under the domestic category, Obama, Clinton, Clinton, Holder, Carville and many more dems AND republicans!
Right on!
Heard on “Hannity” last night from his interview of Dorrie Gold that Israel is a center-right country?
Surprised that the center-left has gotten popular.
Another big difference between 2009 and 2015: the Arab Spring and the rise of ISIS.
In 2009, he voiced support for the principal of 2 states; now he is saying that the circumstances are not favorable for such a solution.
With an unstable Syria, now is not the time for doing radical stuff, like giving the Golan Heights back to Syria, or giving the Muslims better platforms for launching attacks against Israel.
If Israel votes in radical appeasers, they are the only ones to blame for the outcome of that fatal mistake.
Syncro, you are probably more in tune with the situation in Israel on the ground than I am. Your thoughts may be right on point. I’m not quite able to say, but it does seem you have a reasoned point to make there.
Yes, the Obama dilemma is a rather annoying one isn’t it. Can’t influence the elections favorably, but boy it’s of no concern if a crew of manipulators of the public sentiment is on the ground in Israel. I heartily agree.
