A major union in Chicago, the SEIU has endorsed Jesus Chuy Garcia to defeat Rahm Emanuel in the upcoming runoff election for mayor. The general election is an anticlimax as only a democrat can win in Chicago, which explains why the city is in such rotten shape. The endorsement will come with about 2 million in campaign contributions and assures Garcia of additional ground troops as he tries to dethrone Emanuel. Many see this as a slap at the White House.
15% - that’s awful!
I can just imagine - they have to pay for the government union workers?
I’m thinking of Pierce County - cheaper down there but not that far from town....depending on traffic.
Carlsbad CA also is nice - a fairly conservative enclave in the midst of madness.
The weather there is so tempting.
SEIU scares me because it is government employees union and can not go broke like unions in private sector which have bankrupted so many companies.
We tried CA for a year because of weather and proximity to relatives. But the tax structure in CA is punishing!
High state tax on income.
High sales tax.
High property tax.
High auto licensing fees.
Our taxes in WA state are way better except sales tax of course. Our next move...either Florida or SC.
Rahm and Jarrett didn’t get along, from what I’ve heard. Both are domineering control freaks, but Rahm rightfully thought Valerie had way too much influence over Obama. She found a way to make the water so hot for so long, that Rahm bolted away from Obamas train wreck of an administration.
Your Gov is
the MAN!
Love that Dude!
We have friends who’ve transferred their main residence from Missouri to Florida and they’re very happy. This would be a good move for you.
I agree.
This is an Obama move to clear the stage for someone else other than Hillary.
I am beginning to believe it is NOT the Indian Chief either.
SEIU is ISIS without the balaclavas and ninja suits.
Guess that is why Obama hasn’t yet decided where to put his outhouse...err library.
“Voter fraud machine” sounds a bit harsh. How about the
“cemetery vote”?
(your point is a good one!)
How much Blow did the send to the White House?
Where’s Bernie Epton when we really need him? I think he died a few years back?
Bkmrk
Yes, there is something to stop Obama from a third term... the most powerful document in the history of the world.
The same document that stops Americans from selling black citizens as slaves.
Same document that gives women the right to vote.
Same document that gives those of us on FreeRepublic the right to speak politically without fear of being jailed.
Twenty-second
Amendment
(1951)
WHAT IT SAYS
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more
than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted
as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other per
-
son was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President
more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the
office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and
shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President,
or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes
operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.
At the point at which a President would flout the Constitution and continue serving at the end of a second term, anyone who voluntarily continued to be a federal employee would be an enemy of the people of the United States.
Article II, Section 1
"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States,
at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office
who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years,
and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
That section was ignored twice, there is no reason to think any other parts will be enforced.
That said, I can assure you if we attempted to run Netanyahu for President it would NOT work - because everyone knows he was NOT born in the United States. The law would stand - there's no ambiguity when it comes to Netanyahu...
There's no ambiguity about the Twenty-second Amendment either: It says, "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice". Period.
We know Obama was elected twice. It's not up to his mama to say it was only once... or to people working birth statistics in Hawaii. EVERYONE KNOWS Obama was elected twice. ZERO Ambiguity.
The country's NOT divided on the legality of a third term. The Constitution is not ambiguous ... there's no wiggle room.
Soros and his $19 an hour paid whores think the whole Constitution is up for debate - they're paid to think that... doesn't make it so. If they were paid to say there were unicorns they would say there were unicorns and they ride them to work every day.
Really, consider the source.
