Officials in PM's party aren't waiting for the election results: To them, it's already clear the campaign was a 'colossal failure,' thanks to Netanyahu.
Likud officials arent waiting for the election results. On Wednesday, following less than favorable polls, senior officials labeled the election campaign a failure, and blamed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the partys poor showing in the polls ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.
The Zionist Union will be larger than Likud after the election. This, it seems, is already a fact. The question is what the gap between the two will be. Even if we manage to form the next government, this campaign was a colossal failure. Netanyahu is primarily responsible, said a senior Likud member.
Everything went through him during this election season, and the situation isnt good. The election campaign didnt function. Netanyahu kept Likud ministers far from decisions, the senior party figure said. His excessive focus [on himself in the campaign] and his lack of faith in the partys Knesset members prompted him to staff the campaign with people who havent proven themselves.
Another Likud official said, Netanyahu was shown to be a very weak card in this election. He decided to put himself at the front, and forgot that he has an excellent team of ministers and MKs behind him. The public hardly saw them. It turns out the public is weary of Netanyahu, but he didnt think that was a good enough reason to scale back his presence in the campaign."

And one last gasp for western civilization
The Israelis will elect the government they deserve then.
If Netanyahu is not Prime Minister any longer, does that mean he is no longer in any position of authority other than being a figure of history? I can’t see him retiring to teach at some college or so called think tank, at least not yet.
There’s way too much infighting on the right, and that kind of thing always hands the prize to the left!
“Perfect” is always the enemy of the Good! The right should memorize that!
Israel has a parliamentary system. Bibi will be back (this is actually his second stint as PM), just like Churchill was. It’s just going to take the Israelis seeing the consequences of their electoral decisions.
Soros will ensure that the votes are counted accurately .../s
At worst, he will officially be leader of the opposition. He remains a member of the Knesset.
Is Israel’s parliamentary system structured to allow the formation of a minority government?
I believe Netanyahu is in three positions ... He is a member of the Knesset, he is the head of his party, Likud ... and ... he is Prime Minister.
SO, he might not be Prime Minister any longer (but we’ll see). Also, if he loses, the Likud may be mad enough at him that he might not be head of his party. At the end, though, he is a member of the Knesset.
And, lest we forget, O's election machine is at work on the local streets (the machine that can unseal sealed court documents).
How accurate are the polls?
This will explain all that ... :-) ...

Looks like they are going to have their Obama moment.
There has always been a lot of infighting within Likud ... and Netanyahu also fired one of his ministers from the Likud, before! There are people within his own group who would like to see him go. They sniped at Netanyahu for a long time!
Now, I’m not one of those who wants to see him go, because I’ve always supported him 100% ... however ... Netanyahu’s fort ions are not good right now.

He will remain a member of parliament, at a minimum, unless he resigns.
