Vladimir Putin has been 'neutralised' by a stealthy coup as rumours about his health and well-being

Vladimir Putin is 'alive' but 'neutralised' as shadowy security chiefs stage a stealthy coup in Moscow, it was claimed last night.

Former FSB chief Nikolai Patrushev was behind the plot, claimed chairman of the pro-Kremlin national Islamic Committee, Geydar Dzhemal.

Snip...

'I think that Putin is neutralised at the moment, but of course, he is alive,' said Dzhemal, seen as a Kremlin loyalist. 'He is under the control of the power-wielding agencies, who have, in my opinion, organised a coup d'etat.'

snip..

'My information is that Patrushev met Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov in Pyatigorsk on 11 March and tempted him over to his side.'

With feverish speculation in Moscow over Putin's health and whereabouts, and claims of a bitter power struggle in his entourage which could even trigger an attempted coup, the head of Chechnya spoke emotionally of people 'trying to harm the president of Russia - and Russia itself'. And he claimed that forces were scheming 'to break us apart', referring to him and his guarantor Putin.

snip...

The voices of prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Chief of the Kremlin staff Sergei Ivanov - and Putin's intelligence tsars - have remained silent. Kadyrov has enjoyed extraordinary power and largesse under Putin as a reward for keeping an iron grip on the rebellious oil-rich Chechen region, scene of two bloody wars since the collapse of the USSR. As a result he is hated by many senior Putin loyalists. But Kadyrov's enemies claimed yesterday that the 38 year old bearded regional potentate is in 'panic' because he can no longer contact his mentor. 'He is phoning anyone he can in an attempt to arrange a talk with Putin - but he fails,' alleged a website linked to Islamic hardliners seeking to overthrow Kadyrov.

I don’t see whether we gain much if Putin disappears. An unstable Russia could shift to some new and even worse set of relations with the west. But he’s probably just taking a break, that recent assassination in Moscow either threw him off balance if unexpected, or unleashed the guilt complex if he was behind it. Either way, a break is understandable.

If it were known to associates that he was removed from power (or dead) then puppets like Medvedev would have said something in code and disappeared for their own safety.

The one thing which makes me think there is something to the speculation is the lack of any public statement by Putin.

True. I mean the CIA was way ahead of us all on Iraq invading Kuwait, Major Hassan, 9/11, the shoe bomber, the insurgency, the Tsarnaev brothers, the Pakistani bomb, etc.

They are just so fleet footed and fast thinkers. I can barely keep up with them! /////

He could be getting ready to declare war and decided he didn't want to be exposed. Evidently the documentary they aired tonight blames the Ukrainian problem on the interference of the USA.

There was also a fire very close to the Kremlin this evening at Novodevichy Monastery. Evidently, this is a popular tourist spot in Moscow.

NATO has been backing down.

http://web.orange.co.uk/article/news/nato_chief_ukraine_not_our_responsibility

“The conflict in eastern Ukraine is not NATO’s responsibility despite Russia's “violation of international law”, the alliance's Secretary General has said.

Jens Stoltenberg also told Sky News the UK must maintain its military contributions to the organisation, which is set at 2% of GDP.

But, asked if NATO would do anything stop Vladimir Putin's forces in Ukraine, he said: “Our main responsibility is to defend and to protect all NATO allies and no NATO ally has been attacked.

“So deterrence is working because everyone sees that NATO is a very strong alliance and we are now implementing the biggest reinforcement of our collective defence since the end of the Cold War.

“Ukraine is not a member of NATO, so there is a difference between Ukraine and NATO members, because the security guarantee is for NATO allies.etc...”

This was expected, when it became clear Putin lost his war against Ukraine because of unrealistic goals due to Russian military weakness.

LOL. That's an alternative view of reality. Porkyshenko better watch his back before he disappears. He's in more trouble than Putin.

My biggest hope is that Saudi Arabia ramps up oil production, dropping prices to $30/bbl. This will force all the ‘problem’ countries to get their heads straight and ditch their leftists and despots via their OWN coups.

Saud can say, when Iran is totally isolated, and IS is eliminated, we’ll cut back and bring prices back to $75. Gotta be careful what I ask for though..

He has a girlfriend who was just born? Why, he ought to be ashamed of himself.

So you think Prime Minister, President, President, Prime Minister, President, Putin isn't a dictator because of what?

Any "executive leadership" he has only manifests itself in the form of a greased palm or a jackboot.
