CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) The 20-year-old man charged in the shooting of two St. Louis-area officers had been at the protest outside of the Ferguson Police Department earlier that night, authorities said Saturday.
St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch said 20-year-old Jeffrey Williams is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, one count of firing a weapon from a vehicle and three counts of armed criminal action.
The officers were shot early Thursday as a crowd began to break up after a late-night demonstration that unfolded after Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson resigned in the wake of the scathing federal Justice Department report, which found widespread racial bias in the city's policing and in a municipal court system driven by profit extracted from mostly black and low-income residents.
Williams, of north St. Louis County, told police he was firing at someone in which he was in a dispute, not at the police officers, McCulloch said.
"We're not sure we completely buy that part of it," McCulloch said, adding that authorities are not ruling out that other people may be charged in connection with the shootings. He said the investigation is ongoing.

Aspiring rapper.
What’s the over/under on the total number of baby mamas and chilluns?
Ya ever see a news conference where the arresting agency publicly broadcasted what the suspects defense was.
In this case the cops announced, "He said didn't intend to shoot police officers".
The race industry must own Ferguson MO.
I doubt it, unless he has a dozen or more serious convictions. There's overcrowding, and a growing desire to stop sending people to prison for these minor offenses. Besides, he's just a child in a country where racism oppresses blacks.
Facts We Didn’t Know:
Black gangstas often accidentally shoot two law enforcement officers when they are actually aiming at other blacks in the opposite direction.
That looks pricey.
You left out “Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea”
What is this guy saying? He meant to shoot a black person? Wow.
What impresses me is how fast the cops found the suspect. How’d they do that?
“Innocent/choir boy/headed for divinity school/teenager”. Probably used the “gun show loophole” to get his gun with no intergalactic background check. Surprised he didn’t use an RPG since they are always readily available at those gun shows. (Need I add the ‘sarc’ alert?)
Google democraticunderground. For a conservative its actually a fascinating look into the other side. You will laugh, you will shake your head in disbelief and sometimes you will get so mad you have to get out of there before you find yourself yelling at your computer. Its truly left of left and I dont care what color you are, if you dont agree with Obama, you are racist! So be prepared.
Wow! Talk about people being brainwashed. I got out of there quick enough to just need a shower. It does make one wonder how their brains got so damaged and how they can't see the truth that's right in front of them even when the proof is there. Crazy! And they vote. No wonder we are in the mess we are right now.
Going to the DU is like going to the zoo. You see a bunch of animals and you are easily entertained..
In the article I read; they had help from the public.

Tetanus and penicillin, also. Don't stint on safety.
I sure hope so. But the thing that mystifies me is why they even put people on probation with the stipulation that they report to their probation or parole officers...and never even follow up on it when these people fail to show up for their (very brief) appointments. What good does it do?
They had a video that showed where the shots came from, and they simply did a little trigonometry (or, more likely, Google maps) and found the location. This turned out to be a modest little brick rental house, and they arrested the woman who rented it out and the other two people who were in the house. I’m assuming that these people either gave up the shooter, or one of them was the shooter.
“Is this state a death penalty state?”
Yes, it is. Whether they are shy about using it, I don’t know. Probably would not apply in the police officer’s case, since nobody died.
Here’s a list of states which have the d.p. and those which don’t. Don’t know how up to date it is:

I am out on that limb with you.
