President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama flew to Los Angeles on Thursday for TV appearances but took separate flights, collectively costing taxpayers at least $1 million.

The president went to appear live on comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show on ABC, while the first lady went to Warner Bros.’ studios in nearby Burbank to tape an appearance on Ellen Degeneres’ popular daytime show that is scheduled to air on Monday.

Obama traveled on Air Force One, which reportedly costs taxpayers at least $200,000 per flight hour. So the price of his five-hour, coast-to-coast trip will be roughly $1 million.

The cost of an Air Force flight like the one the first lady took reportedly costs more than $28,000 an hour.

The ego of this couple knows no bounds. While the middle class struggles to pay their bills and taxes, these two think nothing of wasting taxpayer money. Greta Susteren had a conniption fit on her show yesterday about this, and rightly so.

Probably. Certainly. But I figured out even before the first election that the two of them don't like each other. For sure she doesn't like him.

Now, on the other hand, there are families that don't fly together so that if something tragic happens, both parents are not lost. Similarly, both president and vice president should really not fly together on the same plane.

But I'm sure that these two are married in name only.

I see so many shows on TV where guests are located in remote locations.
