Bush Says He Has ‘Backbone’ on the Common Core

Jeb Bush, making his first visit to New Hampshire as a likely presidential candidate, implicitly criticized his Republican rivals for the nomination for changing their positions on difficult issues.

Discussing his support for the Common Core education standards, which are viewed unfavorably by many Republicans, Mr. Bush said, “you don’t abandon your core beliefs” just because a position appears unpopular.

“The way I’ve sorted it out is: I think you need to be genuine, I think you need to have a backbone. I think you need to able to persuade people this is a national crisis, this is a national priority,” Mr. Bush told a group of New Hampshire business and education executives.

Jeb, over and over again, shows that he does not fundamentally understand the nature of our Constitutional Federalism.

Let anyone able to read, tell me what in the Constitution provides any Federal role in civilian education within any State? There is not even the suggestion of such a role.

A Jeb nomination would reduce the standing of the Republican Party to that equivalent to that of an Al Sharpton Press Conference on Police/Community relations.

Is there anyone reading this who cannot see how ridiculous this candidacy is? Have we become so used to the demagoguery on the Left, that we are unable to put any serious issue into context?

Bush Says He Has ‘Backbone’

If Bush says a tail is a leg, how many legs does a cow have?

I have a friend who rewards her grandchildren for learning their math facts. She checks their progress when she gets a chance to babysit. Children who are being taught by their families will be tomorrow’s leaders.
