Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush told skeptical voters Friday that he would not soften his views on immigration or education to win their backing.
On his opening foray into New Hampshire for his likely campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, Bush challenged voters here to spend time learning about the issues and avoid shrill partisan sniping. He said “facts don’t matter” to some of his critics and told his first political audience in the state in 15 years that true leaders do not shrink from their beliefs for political expediency.

From Jeb’s perspective they are very conservative.

Arrogant, snobbish, presumptuous, offensive and a know-it-all. Not a good formula for winning voters who aren’t already in the GOPe, Chamber of Commerce camp.

Yeah, unfortunately I suspect the RNC has already planned out how to make it look legit that Jebster gets the nod by March of next year. I’ve studied the past two elections and the RNC tweaks it each time making their control over the outcome tighter. Getting McCain nominated was tough, so they moved some primary dates around to make Romney’s ride easier.
At the last convention they changed some more rules and set a calendar that could get even a democrat in an R jersey nominated. Some of the states have thrown a monkey wrench into the plan a little by moving their primaries up, particularly Texas.
It’ll take a miracle for us to not get stuck with Jebster.

The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific powers to regulate either immigration or intrastate education. So if Bush really wants to fix broken and unconstitutional federal policy on these issues if he becomes president then he must first do the following.
Bush must work with Congress to propose immigration and education amendments to the Constitution to the states. And if the states choose to ratify Bush’s amendments then he and Congress will have the constitutional authority to decide federal policy on these issue if he is elected president.
On the other hand, consider Thomas Jefferson’s advice to the states on all issues.

Yep. Applied to Democrats and Republicrats like JEB is the term “moderate”. Compassionate. Temperate. Reasonable. Nice.
Conservatives are described with terms like “ultra”, “arch”, “die-hard”, “rabid” “venom-dripping” or “neo-Nazi”.

That has to be historical lore. With no children born to the couple Washington was shooting blanks his entire married life. Martha had kids from her prior marriage and was well beyond child bearing years by the time George became President.
On the bright side we get to watch Karl Rove handle another GOP contender.

You’re probably right, it’s likely an outgrowth of his exchanges with Nicola and the Newburgh Conspiracy.
It was just the way I was taught 5 decades ago..
But it’s clear he squelched any idea of his being a monarch and although he did have brothers with children they were never possessed of the idea of asserting any hereditary right.
But my comment about Bush stands. Political families become much more. We need no neo-monarchial aristocracy, hereditary or not.

Me neither; I would feel better had I not voted for McPain in 2008, but no Jebbie at all for me.
