Stacie Laughton, the state's first openly transgender legislator who was elected to the House of Representatives and then withdrew her candidacy days later, said Thursday that she is the person responsible for calling in a hoax bomb threat at a local hospital.
After spending two weeks receiving treatment at a Vermont hospital for bipolar disorder, Laughton walked into the Nashua Police Department at noon on Thursday and turned herself in on a warrant for the Feb. 27 incident.
“I have had a mental illness my whole life, and I guess this was my worst break with it. I was untreated for a long time, and I didn't have medication,” Laughton told the New Hampshire Union Leader, adding she is very remorseful for her actions.
Laughton said she was not in the right frame of mind when she called in a bomb threat to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center around 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 27. Laughton, who also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, described feelings of extreme impulsivity when she made the phone call.
In 2012, Laughton was elected as one of three House members for Ward 4 in Nashua. However, after news surfaced about her previous life as a convicted felon under the name of Barry C. Laughton Jr. in Laconia, Laughton signed her letter of resignation and the Board of Aldermen sought a special election to fill the vacant position.

How utterly sad that there are so many who want to force people into believing that butchering your body to imitate the opposite sex is merely a misunderstood condition. It is, and has been, considered part of a mental illness, not a civil rights issue. How many lives have been and will be tormented and ultimately destroyed as a result of people seeking to purvey this lie?

I just moved here and consider it better than VA where I was born but I guess every state has it nutty locations within it, hell Texas has Wendy Davis and she even ran for governor last year, lucky for them that was not meant to be

It refuses to take its medication which causes it to be dangerous but we shouldn’t lock it away.
Trans gender/sexual/yaba-daba-doo whatever, is simply an outward manifestation of serious mental disorders.
Look no further than this man, or the thrice married father of multiple children Olympic Decathlon Champion who suddenly decides that in his mid sixties has been a woman trapped in his male athlete body since ‘he can remember’.
These people need mental help. Serious mental help.Any physician that aides them through surgery is guilty of mutilation and should lose their license to practice medicine.

I cannot believe this “thing” was elected.
And I notice she has all of the “trendy “ illnesses.
(Not denying the seriousness of either disease but this type never gets gout or has a goiter.)
