March 10, 2015 Forget Hillary Clinton's speech on gender equality at the United Nations this afternoon. What the people wanted to know on Tuesday was whether the former secretary of State was going to hold a press conference after her remarks to address her email story, which now enters its second week in the news cycle.
A Clinton spokesman confirmed late Tuesday morning that Clinton will indeed hold a "brief press conference" after the U.N. speech. The "brief" nature of it is telling: Clinton is likely looking to get in, assure the public, and get out.
News organizations spent the morning trying to pin down specific details about the presser. The Associated Press reported that Clinton is expected to take questions from reporters, which could make the conference run longer than perhaps Team Hillary hopes. Reporters dispatching from their desks and not in New York City, where Clinton is keynoting a Women's Empowerment Principles event, were grappling with a scary question: Will the presser be live-streamed? Event organizers are planning to webcast Clinton's speech through the Women's Empowerment Principles' website, but it's unclear if that stream will include the press conference.
In New York, reporters are itching to go. Clinton's team is "working to help with access" to the presser, the spokesman said.
Clinton is expected to address the controversy over her email use while at the State Department. A New York Times report revealed last week that the unofficial Democratic presidential candidate used a private email addressnot a .gov accountto conduct official work as secretary of state, a practice that could have violated federal record-keeping laws.
“I forget.”
My brain is jello, jello....
A war on grifters.
She’s too old to have a long one.
Give Hitlery a break. She’s a grandmother now. /s
Option 2. Give a brief statement and hope it goes away.
Option 3. Denigrate the accusers and hope it goes away.
Option 4. Tell everyone that it was in the past and hope it goes away.
Option 5. Kill somebody in Fort Marcy Park and hope it goes away.
That's not so far fetched. Wasn't it around Benghazi time that she fell, or something, and was complaining of double vision; wearing funny prismatic glasses? She can try for health-problem sympathy.
In other words she is sending out her knuckle breakers to get the media back in line.
Rush said the “Press” needed to submit for passes 24 hours ahead to get in, so unless someone is there as a daily reporter, they probably won’t get to ask questions.
Maybe she’s just announcing that she is NOT running!;)
Read the link in Post # 29.
Her U.N speech is over and she sat down with a group at a VIP speakers’ table - so I don’t know when this “brief” appearance will be.
She looks awful. Her hair needs washing. She has big dark bags under her eyes.
Thank you.
Didn’t she already start Option 3? I thought her people were already accusing everyone who makes a big deal out of this of sexism.
And that’s after months of cleanup.
CHISTANNA AMOPOUR: “With all the right wing conspirators out there talking about your emails, how do stay so calm in this atmosphere?
HILLARY: “(Cackle cackle cackle) Oh, I know what you mean Chistanna, they never let up, do they? (cackle) and thanks for your question, I stay calm by just considering the source of the outrageous attacks”. Now I have get back to my grandbaby and baking cookies. Thanks everyone and have good evening”
