The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) recently circulated an email breathlessly titled, Governments on Track to Reaching Paris 2015 Universal Climate Agreement Negotiating Text Officially Published.
The message triumphantly claimed that Another key step towards a new, universal climate change agreement has just been taken as the negotiating text for the agreement was officially issued by the [UNFCCC]. This refers to the upcoming talks in Paris in December on a successor pact to the 1997 Kyoto global warming treaty.

Thanks for the ping!
Regarding treaties, do y'all remember discussions in this message board concerning how socialists are trying to unconstitutionally expand the federal government's powers using the federal government's power to negotiate treaties? An example of this is Constitution-ignoring USA diplomats working through the UN to try to force US citizens to comply with foreign laws based on powers which the states have never delegated to the feds expressly via the Constitution. Examples of such laws include gun control, parenting control, Agenda 21 issues and climate change global warming.
However, consider that constitutional experts have historically clarified limits Congress's power to negotiate treaties.
As one example, consider Thomas Jefferson. Based on his experience as vice president and president of the Senate, he had officially clarified that Congress cannot use its power to negotiate treaties as a back door to establish new powers for itself, powers not based on the limited powers which the states have delegated to Congress expressly via the Constitution.
In giving to the President and Senate a power to make treaties, the Constitution meant only to authorize them to carry into effect, by way of treaty, any powers they might constitutionally exercise. Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1793.
Surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way. Thomas Jefferson: Parliamentary Manual, 1812 .
A more important example concerning limits on treaty powers powers comes from the Supreme Court. In fact, the Court reflected on Jeffersons words, clarifying that Congress cannot use its power to negotiate treaties as a backdoor way to expand its constitutionally-limited powers.
"2. Insofar as Art. 2(11) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice provides for the military trial of civilian dependents accompanying the armed forces in foreign countries, it cannot be sustained as legislation which is "necessary and proper" to carry out obligations of the United States under international agreements made with those countries, since no agreement with a foreign nation can confer on Congress or any other branch of the Government power which is free from the restraints of the Constitution [emphasis added] [emphasis added]. Reid v. Covert, 1956.
Getting back to the Paris agreement, socialist are evidently once again trying to use the Senates power to negotiate treaties as a back door to force citizens to comply with federal laws base on constitutionally nonexistent federal government powers. So lets add this abuse of treaty power to the list of reasons to repeal 17A.
IMO the fact we are still involved with the U.N. today tells me something about those we call representatives.
Worse. Environmentalism is tyranny.
Welfare is just Socialism.
We’ve been talking about watermelon Greens here for a long time. Green on the outside, the Red of Communism on the inside.
And it still annoys me that the press switched the colors associated with political parties in the 2000 election, and that most on the Right have accepted it.

Irks me too. Very Orwellian where words come to have their opposite meanings.
As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.
global warming is a Satanic hoax to orchestrate world domination
