Thought the Soviet Union was anti-American? Try todays Russia.
After a year in which furious rhetoric has been pumped across Russian airwaves, anger toward the United States is at its worst since opinion polls began tracking it. From ordinary street vendors all the way up to the Kremlin, a wave of anti-U.S. bile has swept the country, surpassing any time since the Stalin era, observers say.
The indignation peaked after the assassination of Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov, as conspiracy theories started to swirl just a few hours after he was killed that his death was a CIA plot to discredit Russia. (On Sunday, Russia charged two men from Chechnya, and detained three others, in connection with Nemtsovs killing.)
There are drives to exchange Western-branded clothing for Russias red, blue and white. Efforts to replace Coke with Russian-made soft drinks. Fury over U.S. sanctions. And a passionate, conspiracy-laden fascination with the methods that Washington is supposedly using to foment unrest in Ukraine and Russia.
The anger is a challenge for U.S. policymakers seeking to reach out to a shrinking pool of friendly faces in Russia.

Obama needs to take off his shirt and get on a horse to stem the tide.
But ... but ... but the rest of the world is going to love us if we elect Obama.
Our foreign relations have been horrible during Obama’s clown show.
How can the rest of the world respect us, especially Russia, when the boss of the commissioner of the NFL let their leader STEAL a Super Bowl ring??
Relations have been at an all time low since this idiot took over.
All he cares about is his fetish for cross dressers and his obsession for homosexuals.
His foreign policy is all about wanting enemies and state funded terrorism states to like us and he blames us for poverty around the world.
B-b-b-b-b-but we had Reset Button, man! A reset button!
Credit where credit is due. At least Obama isn’t in love with Putin like our last President, who acted like he was in Harlequin book towards Vlad.
Russia has been waging war propaganda for years now, complete with conspiracy theories that blame the United States for the 9/11 terrorist attacks or with being behind things like AIDS. It’s only been getting even worse over the past year or so, but it is not new.
Russian media hysteria over the evil United States though, which, by the way, must even pass a FSB inspection for the plots of their soap operas (this is NOT an exaggeration), seems lately to have been designed to justify a nuclear attack on the United States. Russian programs have even discussed what it would look like if the Russian army took a “tour” through Europe.
My personal opinion is that they are psychologically preparing their people for war with the United States, which I think they are actively preparing for.
It is dominant in recent years, have you heard any of the nutjobs claiming the Maidan Revolution was a coup? Anti-American propaganda.
Well not much different from many in this country from what I’m reading.
Let’s look at the countries that love us more .....
Israel?
Russia?
Libya?
Syria?
Egypt?
Jordan?
China?
?
?
?
These countries don’t love us more. In fact, they have a lot less respect for us.
It will take a generation to recover from the disasters of this clown.
When you have no idea where your enemy stands on any issue, your decisions must be based on the worst scenario. Our agitator in chief is consistent only in that he will look for political advantage at all costs. It’s hard to imagine anyone including Putin not wanting to take advantage of the situation.
Screw the Soviet Union. These jackasses are as blind as millions of Americans that cannot see how the leaders are destroying their Country.
It’s possible, because when GW Bush was in office .. most of those years he had a Secretary of State who could speak FLUENT RUSSIAN .. plus 7-8 other languages.
When Condi Rice met with Putin, they were speaking the same language - and Putin had no doubts about what Bush would or would not do.
Obama is another ballgame altogether .. he’s weak; can’t make up his mind; wishy-washy on everything. It’s bound to make a person nervous, but with Putin - he smells weakness and he is only taking advantage of the situation.
And .. so is Iran.
Bush looked into his eyes and saw that Putin was a good person. Who could always be trusted.
Guess what? anti american sentiment is the highest its been here too
Giving Putin the Crimea as a present wasn’t a demonstration of adoration?
The West better get it together, in facing Russia again.
I’m sick of all the action films having Russians as the homicidal bad guys. It’s getting old.
He trusted him so much that he made agreements to install missile defense in Eastern Europe - same agreements Obama reneged on.
