Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and presidential hopeful, recently apologized for a statement in which he said being gay is "absolutely" a choice.
In an interview on CNN, the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate commented that "a lot of people who go into prison, go into prison straight, and when they come out they're gay, so did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."

Yes, it is a choice to act on perverted urges. It's also a mental defect and
those who are perverted should be institutionalized to keep the public safe.
Do you have a link for that, that’s not from Regnerus (only because homosexuals trash me, if I mention Regnerus).
A recent study showed identical twins are both homosexual in only 10% of cases, which thoroughly disputes the “born that way” excuse.
As I've gotten older, I've watched several previously heterosexual men and women suddenly become homosexual or bisexual later in life.
In most cases, they were survivors of some trauma, very bad marriages or had aged poorly and/or for whatever reason believe themselves to be unattractive to the opposite sex or believe/feel the opposite sex is unattractive to them.
However, their need for love and companionship, along with a very strong desire to not be alone, resulted in a sort of reversion back to their youth.
When we are kids, we usually have same sex friends, our BFFs with whom we share everything, but usually we do not have opposite sex friends of the same caliber/quality.
For some of our fellow humans under the Bell Curve of humanity, whether during puberty or later in life, some sort of mental/emotional block or trauma prevents them from making the transition to, or causes them to regress back from, normal/common, healthy heterosexual relations.
As a result, they choose, whether conscious of the choice or not, to be homosexual.
Many negative feelings and emotions, both inner and outer, result from this lifestyle adaptation to satisfy basic human needs, which then has motivated the strong political push for mandatory acceptance of homosexuality that Dr. Carson ran into.
Ultimately, homosexuality is a spiritual, not a physical, emotional or mental, issue, but we experience and struggle with its symptoms here in the physical and emotional realms.
That's my humble opinion.
10% is higher than the incidence of gays in the total population. So that supports the theory of something happening in vitro.
But if it’s something genetic, then BOTH identical twins would be homosexual.
