I would work out in the junk yard before going to Planet Fitness. LA fitness is OK and head and shoulders above the old Bally’’s.

1. No dumbbells over 50lbs
2. No free barbells.
3. A 2 plate (200 lb) limit on Smith Machines
4. A prohibition on deadlifts, clean and jerks, snatches, thrusters, extreme bodyweight workouts, burpees, pullups, and other real exercises; workout routines such as CrossFit and p90x are banned by name.
5. You can’t even breathe heavy
6. Set down a dumbbell hard or breath too heavily and an alarm goes off. Also don’t sweat too much in the free weight area.
7. Sponsors “The Biggest Loser” but 90% of the exercises on the show would get you kicked out of Planet Fitness...
