Rubio is popular, but in his home state he is taking a back seat to Bush vs. Walker, Kaplan said. Even among Hispanics, Bush takes 24 percent, Walker 23 percent and Rubio, a Cuban-American, comes in third with 11 percent -- roughly his same level of support across the states Republicans in an open field.
A new poll shows Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is running in a dead heat with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in the Sunshine State as the 2016 presidential race looms.
Gravis Marketing released its poll of Florida Republicans this week, which finds Bush ahead with 23 percent but Walker right on his heels with 22 percent. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., places third with 11 percent followed by former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., with 10 percent. Huckabee moved to Florida after his 2008 presidential bid.
Dr. Ben Carson, who also moved to Florida recently, placed fifth with 8 percent. Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., takes 6 percent followed by U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. Two Texas Republicans lag behind: U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz takes 2 percent while former Gov. Rick Perry pulls 1 percent. An eighth of those surveyed -- 12 percent -- remain undecided.
Doug Kaplan, the managing partner of Gravis Insights, said he expected the contest to come down to Bush and Walker.
We are seeing the early stages of a two-man horse race between Bush and Walker, Kaplan said. Bush vs. Walker is ... inside the margin of error.
Kaplan was not as high on Rubios chances, even though he ran close to Bush when the contest came down to just the two of them. In that scenario, Bush takes 40 percent while Rubio gets 36 percent.

President Barack Obama is toxic for Florida Republicans with only 16 percent of them approving of him while 79 percent disapprove of him.
The poll of 513 Florida Republicans was taken from Feb. 24-25 and had a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.
I think Cruz would be a super strong VP. He can throw the lightning at people and roast the liberals and Walker can lead.
Cruz will chew them up and spit them out before Walker even sees them. This will keep Walker looking Presidential and executive.
Reminds me of Venezuela.
Agreed...but no one is guaranteed this spot. Walker has to earn it, and Cruz has every right to contend, too. Hopefully most of each group of followers will support their guy...but be realistic as the race develops. If Walker proves himself and has a sustained lead over Cruz...at some point Cruz needs to get out and support the Walker. The same if Cruz enters and takes the mantle proving his electability and campaign organization. I like both...and would be more excited to vote for either than any candidate at the top of the ticket. What we can’t have is 2-3 conservatives splitting the vote much past the FL primary IA, NH, SC, and FL need to shake out the field and we need to solidify behind the best man to win over Jeb.
Rubio and Jeb Bush can go to Venezuala since they love socialism so much and get in the thousand person line for toilet paper. all socialists get out of America
Walker/Cruz is my first choice but I’d settle for Walker/Rubio or Walker/Carson.
I like Walker but amnesty Rubio needs to be deported
I think you’re correct. Walker being able to lead Cruz and Cruz being able to work as second in command would destroy all the stereotypes the elite are trying to tarnish both of them with.
Yes what Obama is doing to the USA is what chavez did to Venezuela only this is worse as even Venezuela didn’t ruin the Internet as much as Obama did with the socialist net neutrality mandate
My first choice is also Walker/Cruz. I think they would be the dynamic duo. No to Carson. I’m squishy on him. Rubio - maybe.
Nobody wants to see another Bush in the White House. Nothing Jeb says is going to change that.
“Walker/Cruz would be better.”
I’d take a Walker/Fiorina also.
You go, Scott Walker !
It is not at all a sure thing that Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, will even be offered the opportunity of coronation, considering the withering fire Herself is taking from erstwhile Democrat allies. Remember, Herself was believed to have had a sure thing in 2008 when an unknown usurper came along and took all the cookies.
And if Herself ends up not even getting on the ballot in 2016, how can Jeb Bush lose to Herself?
In which case, I am already sending Scott Walker monetary support.
BTW just announced that unemployment rate in WI has now dropped to 5% :)
A Walker presidency would, I believe, halt the destruction of our country and lead to the restoration of America to its former greatness.
Oh, and D_M, your tagline is spot-on!
Yes Walker as president would halt the slide of the USA into socialism(Hell). Thanks
SCOTT WALKER 2016
As a side note to this thread, please consider the following. The question that patriots need to ask themselves concerning whom to send to the Oval Office after 2016 is the following. Which of the candidates is going to be most receptive to learning about the federal governments constitutionally limited powers, and associated limits on Congresss power to lay taxes, after becoming the POTUS?
