Periodically I receive emails from good pro-lifers (and occasionally from pro-abortionists) politely suggesting that what I had written was hard to believe. None exactly accused me of making it up, but the gist was hard to miss: Nobody, but nobody would ever say, could ever say what I attributed to the author of a particular article.
The beauty of the Internet is that you can easily direct good-faith skeptics to the source. So, in his instance, go to I Love Abortion: Implying Otherwise Accomplishes Nothing for Womens Rights, by Jessica DelBalzo.
The rhrealitycheck.org site is peopled by the kind of women who think the use of abusive and potty-mouthed language in the service of saying anything is somehow bold and just the recipe to rally the Sisterhood against the Patriarchal State, aka, pro-lifers, the Republican Party, and in general anyone who does not subscribe to their ultra-pro-abortion position.
If you believe the writers that congregate there, no pro-lifer ever for a moment cared about a single woman in a crisis pregnancy and, for that matter, there really IS no crisis pregnancy, just the opportunity to simultaneously exercise autonomy and tidy up a few loose ends.
Here are DelBalzos first two paragraphs:
I love abortion. I dont accept it. I dont view it as a necessary evil. I embrace it. I donate to abortion funds. I write about how important it is to make sure that every woman has access to safe, legal abortion services. I have bumper stickers and buttons and t-shirts proclaiming my support for reproductive freedom. I love abortion.
And I bristle every time a fellow activist uses a trendy catch-phrase or rallying cry meant to placate pro-lifers. The first of these, Make abortion safe, legal, and rare! has been used for decades as a call for abortion rights.
She can live with the first two, but rare set her off. Why? DelBalzos argument is suggesting that abortion be rare is an example of the cardinal sin (probably the only sin). It
implies a value judgement, promoting the idea that abortion is somehow distasteful or immoral and should be avoided.
Well, even to ponder that possibility puts you on the same side of the fence as those crazy misogynistic, forced-birth advocates. To DelBalzo, there is no abortion that can EVER be an immoral or objectionable option.
Warming to the topic, she adds, Terminating a pregnancy is not an unethical act, yet suggesting that abortion should be rare implies that there is something undesirable about having one.
Two points. First, she achieves her aura of certitude by offering a blanket exemption, thus clearing the field of any possibility of an undesirable abortion. (Im sure that doesnt surprise you.) As such [meaning the all-purpose get-out-of-acting-like-a-morally-accountable-adult card]
we must avoid stigmatizing it in any way. No woman benefits from even the vaguest insinuation that abortion is an immoral or objectionable option.
Second, her justifications bare an eerie resemblance to the reasoning undergirding the after-birth abortion [infanticide] argument. Anything in a womans life that might be affected by an unexpected baby is reason enough to off the kid (although there is not a word in her essay that acknowledges that there is any there there).
Abortion is not only the one final, definitive instrument that secures our bodily autonomy but also (as lyrically described by DelBalzo) a womans last refuge.
Given all that, her concluding thought? Whats not to love?
How about over 57 million unborn babies?

Really? What about the 30 MILLION or so females that have been murdered in utero in the United States since 1973?

Too bad her mother didn’t feel the same way.
Hitler probably loved what he did as well.
Manly Spaniards drew their weapons and ran to kill a blood-covered Mexican priest.
The companies that made the gas chambers loved mass murder.
It takes a special kind of person to love dismembered and slaughtered babies in the vacuum jars or those forced to be born, then ignored until they die. How big a jump is it from loving abortion to loving the murder of adults?
People who feel the need to go around proclaiming their pride are trying to hide their deep and lasting shame.
They can just say, “I sure hate them n****rs, so bad I want to kill them all. But I just don’t like to get my hands dirty.”
Oddly, I never see people proclaiming, “I had my wisdom teeth removed!” I never see people saying how much wisdom teeth removal improves their lives or how it symbolizes their autonomy as persons. I have never seen anyone whine about the stigmatizing effect of going to the oral surgeon’s office for an extraction. Nor has anyone ever commemorated the anniversary of their wisdom teeth extraction by reflecting that if they hadn’t had those teeth removed, the teeth would be x years old now.
The reason, of course, is that teeth are just a part of your body, and sometimes, it actually is necessary to remove them.
Although pro-aborts try to claim that these facts apply to abortion, they know they don’t. So they become ever more shrill trying to insist that there is nothing wrong with abortion, because they are trying to drown out their own doubt, which cannot ever be eradicated.
We all know that killing babies is wrong—especially those who advocate the most loudly for baby killing.
Well said. I can’t imagine the pain so many post abortion women feel when they realize that they killed their own baby. I’ve heard testimonies from two of them, one was a grandmother and tears were rolling down her cheeks-the regret never goes away.
Others must deny the truth to keep from facing the horror of what they did.
I believe that.
At some point their consciences do get so seared that infanticide doesn't register on their hearts - but until they reach that point, there is a lot of flailing around, and shouting - trying to drown out their inner voice (the image of God that we were all endowed).
[[I Love Abortion and Im Proud to Say It]]
Then show your support and round up all the spotted owl eggs you can find and smash them to a big gooey blob on television to show the world hjow much you just love abortion-
Well said, NorthstarMom.
When I was a young lad, I prayed to GOD and asked him “How can you punish someone like Hitler, and a poor wretched sinner like like me and be just and fair?” Years later I had a dream in which Hitler lived through the lives of each and every poor soul that he caused pain and suffering. Each and every child that died or suffered pain-— he will live through their torment and feel their pain. For eternity he will feel each and every moment of their terror and pain, as if he was them. On judgment day we shall feel the pain and suffering we have caused others in our life. The evil men who are killing, or supporting the killing, of GOD’s children will live through each and every moment of their short and painful lives, their suffering will last for eternity. Pray for their salvation. We are near the end of days. Jesus, come and save us. Forgive me LORD for I am a sinner. Jesus, is my LORD and savior, Praise the Lord.
Forgive me, Lord = LORD.
I was a witness to a young woman whom I think was confronting for the first time that she had killed her own child. It was in a college beginning biology class, where we watched an amazing film about embryonic/fetal development (somehow, the filmmakers had put cameras into the womb to film the babies, starting within weeks after conception). This one young woman in class watched the film with the most glum look on her face, a look that I had previously seen on the face of a friend whose uncle had just died.
The abortion industry can lie to girls about what is happening during pregnancy, and put an incredible amount of pressure on them to have an abortion without allowing them time to think about it. They use high-pressure sales tactics to encourage young people to have unprotected sex and then have abortions, all while telling them that babies don't exist before birth. But what they cannot do is prevent young people who fall for their tactics from learning the truth. And that truth can be learned at any time. So, post-abortive women must either go into exaggerated denial (sometimes becoming fanatic about pushing abortion), or become depressed--often, they do both.
No better than a muslim terrorist beheading people. NONE!
How can yo love murdering a person. A person who has done nothing wrong! The poor child exists inconveniently to the adult and are therefore murdered.
Lord help this woman and help this Country!
More proof that liberalism is a mental illness.
