Senior official on Netanyahu's plane: Congress must be made aware of Iran deal concessions

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived on Sunday night in Washington D.C., where he is scheduled to deliver a speech before Congress on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters during an in-flight briefing, a senior official in the prime minister's entourage said Israel holds a significant amount of trustworthy information regarding the deal taking shape with Iran that points at concessions agreed to by the world powers that run counter to Israel's interests.

The senior official travelling on the prime minister's plane noted that Netanyahu had received the impression that members of Congress are not fully aware of the details of the deal being worked out. Netanyahu, the official said, is interested in using his speech to inform members of Congress of the information Israel holds in regards the deal, and seeks to help lawmakers there stop it from going ahead.

"We are knowledgable of many details from the agreement being put together, details that we feel Congress members are unaware of," he said. "According to the information we hold, the deal that is currently taking shape will leave Iran with the abilities to produce a nuclear weapon, if Khamenei were to make such a decision."

The official noted that Israel had clarified to the U.S. government that Netanyahu's speech before a joint session of Congress is not aimed against Obama.

"We are in favor of a good deal, one that will relieve Iran of its nuclear abilities," said the senior official."It is untrue that Netanyahu is against any diplomatic deal with the Iranians. We want to warn Congress against far-flung concessions in the deal that is taking shape, since Congress in the last barrier before a bad deal."

I would imagine that the administration is trying to “update” the House and Senate on some of the details they “overlooked” and failed to inform them about. When the committees discover they’ve been kept in the dark and played for fools its not going to go over so well.

It's incredible to me how much the USA has changed in 6 yrs. Drudge has an article posted where Israel was told that the USA would shoot down their jets if they attempted a raid on Iran's nuclear facilities.

We have a POTUS who was educated as a child in islamic schools. We have the same POTUS who's principal adviser was born in Iran. We have a POTUS who refuses to identify the religion motivating the terrorists who threaten us.

Maybe the Jewish community in the USA will stop voting for Rats and recognize that their true friends in the USA are Evangelical Christians. Nah...they're to smart for that!

Y’know, you may be right. The insanity of rebutting a speech not yet made reeks of desperation. Would not be surprised if he announces a press conference for the exact time as Bibi’s speech. The traditional "lefties" in the media, schools, govt, Rat party have been co-opted by radicals. They hate God fearing conservatives so much they rather get in bed with radicals who don't care who they hurt, or what they destroy.

Israel, a nation we have supported almost from it's rebirth after WWII. A nation that has a great record on human rights, property rights, and representative govt is being isolated as we embrace tyrants of a death cult. Where is the outrage?
