NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland Republican voters rejected former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the straw poll, as he earned only 8 percent of the vote and came in fifth.
That came as, according to reports and several other campaigns, Bush attempted to rig the straw poll by busing in supporters from Washington, D.C., and K Street. So, after subtracting out those his campaign packed into the Gaylord hotel in National Harbor, his support among conservatives is even more smaller than it appears.
Bush faced a round of ridicule from pretty much everyone across the Republican Party, ranging from MSNBC host Joe Scarborough to Sen. Jeff Sessions.
Scarborough told Breitbart News in an interview at CPAC that the GOP nominee in 2016 needs to be a conservative and be able to turn out the conservative basesomething that Bush is clearly having issues with. He adds if that doesnt happen, then the party will lose in the general election.
Sen. Sessions, who at a Breitbart News meet-and-greet rebutted Bushs support for amnesty right after Bushs appearance on stage, said that even with all the money Bush is raising he needs to be able to win votessomething Bush showed at CPAC hes currently unable to do among the Conservative base.
Ill tell you one thing: Its the people of this country that run this country, Sessions said. Contributions and supporters are always important in presidential elections and other elections too, but votes trumps money.

I was there and it was pitiful to arch bussed in supporters and attempted chaos by the Rove Machine. Young people rejected the Rove efforts outright.
That’s what happens when you try to BUY a straw poll, it comes back to bite you in the a@@..sorry Jeb, no refunds, you bought them, they couldn’t deliver, now suck on the consequences
Its ok, the media will get him annointed one way or another
CNN were gushing all over him...always a bad sign!
He absolutely will not ever get my vote. If that means unelectable, I can’t answer. The only thing worse than political dynasties are corrupt incompetent dynasties. Bushes and Clintons are corrupt.
CNN represents multi national elites, not liberals or conservatives or Americans.
When it comes to a Bush vs a Paul I’m a Paulbot.
When you have no grass roots support all the super pac money in the world will not buy you the votes.
I will NOT vote for Bush! I don’t care if he gets nominated. Will NOT vote for him!
Fortunately for most of us here, we’re proudly neither.
And if the Establishment continues to support Bush, it will be clear to us all (if it is not already) that their sole goal in pushing Bush would be to prevent a conservative from getting the nomination, and becoming president.
That has been clear to me for quite a while.
Look at the previous two election cycles. McCain was as popular as poison ivy in June 2007 after pushing amnesty TWICE and had no money. Yet he had the nomination sewn up by March.
Romney was the author of the precursor of the hated Obamacare and had taken all positions on all issues at one time or another and was less popular than McCain. Yet again, by March of 2012, hes the nominee.
They have the calendar rigged so red states have virtually no say until it’s too late. Elsewhere they have purposefully open primaries. The rules have been tweaked to smooth out the bumps Romney experienced on the way to his nomination. The GOP exists to block conservatives, not represent them.
The last 4 Presidential elections have been amnesty D vs amnesty R.
We have to think outside the box the parties have put us in.
Jeb doesn't care what the CPAC straw poll showed, not a whit. He sleep-walked through the Hannity/Bush dog-and-pony show. His visit to this CPAC event was essentially a must-go courtesy call only.
The lightweight or faux conservatives who will egotistically enter the 2016 primaries (too many, of course) will split the conservative vote....while the soft-spoken, well-spoken, non-scary, non-threatening, teddy bear-ish Bush will be the big beneficiary of votes from the masses of low-information and center/left GOP voters.
This is the strategery scenario Jeb is visualizing for the primaries along with his veteran campaign staffers....a scenario they will promote along with a cooperative media and the establishment-controlled National Republican Committee.
Just because he finished last at CPAC shouldn't cause a single Republican to underestimate Jeb Bush....or to count him out.

This is something I've been saying for since the last election. The logic is airtight.
The low info GOP voters will vote for anyone sporting an R on their sleeve. Conservatives require a candidate to actually earn their vote, by demonstrating their fealty to conservative principles and practices.
Run a milquetoast RINO, and many conservatives will leave the line blank.
That equals LOSE.
Run a strong conservative, and you get the low info AND the highly principled votes.
That equals WIN.
I think I heard every time the GOP wins, they carry Ohio.
Crucial battleground state. They’ve got to get that one (or within reason, make it up elsewhere).
For however the forecasting works, for whatever formula works.
Ohio, Virginia, other battlegrounds.
He did not buss in enough supporters to counteract those that are against him!
“In 2007, Bush joined InnoVida, a Miami manufacturer of composite building materials, winning a seat on the board and a $15,000-a-month consulting contract. At the time, company president Claudio Osorio was a big player in Miamis glitzy social and political world, hosting fundraisers at his Star Island mansion for Democratic politicians like Hillary Rodham Clinton and, in 2008, for then-Sen. Barack Obama.”
Jeb’s fast and loose with other people's money should disqualify him from having the keys to the bathroom, let alone the White House. Jeb Bush's judgment is questionable, his ethics compromised, and he's got the instincts of a crook.
Without the support of conservatives he cannot win the presidency.
The Texas primary is on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Hopefully that date will give a lift to conservatives (most notably Ted Cruz).
When you feel you have to bring your own cheering squad .. you’ve already failed the test.
I thought Jeb was very high-strung .. not comfortable at all. He appeared on edge .. nervous. He kept moving around too much; words were very, very rehearsed .. they were not flowing well.
And .. everything Hannity ask him was always answered with a PERFECT REPLY.
And .. his cheering squad was embarrassing .. they wouldn’t shut up.
Basically .. I was not impressed .. and I’m not surprised he didn’t make any headway with the crowd.
I had already watched Cruz and Walker .. and in comparison .. there is no comparison.
The Body Mortgagors vs. We the People.
