Facebook yanks page of 12-year-old conservative who said Obama doesn't love U.S.

On Friday, C.J. Pearson, a 12-year-old conservative from Georgia who posted a viral video supporting Rudy Giuliani, discovered that his personal Facebook page was locked. In an exclusive interview with Examiner.com on Saturday, Pearson said he received a message from someone about 6 a.m. Friday. That's when he learned his account and page had been locked for "suspicious activity."

He jumped through all of Facebook's hoops, but wasn't able to recover his account. So he created a new profile to take its place. His public page was not affected, he said, however, he can no longer administer the page. Fortunately, he said, a friend is helping post links to that page.

It happens all the time on Facebook, and that’s why I recommend people don’t violate their requirements ... because if you do, you’re going to have your account yanked. I see people all the time that I know are violating Facebook’s requirements and sooner or later they get their account yanked!

Yes, there are other reasons other than “political” to have a Facebook account ... and just about ALL my relatives have that account just for friends and family and nothing more.

NOW I have it for friends and family and leave that account just for that.

However, I have had other accounts (that’s a violation right there) for political stuff and religious stuff. And in each of those areas ... I don’t care what your position is ... you’re going to get people mad and they are going to report you to Facebook.

On those “other accounts” I have had about six of them deleted over a period of time. You have to then find your previous friends again and build it back up ... :-) ...

If you are political or religious ... any religion any any side of the political spectrum ... you WILL have your account deleted. That’s because no matter which side of ANYTHING you are on, you will get people mad at you and you will get reported.

The only ones that stay around are those that don’t deal in politics or religion, and stick strictly to friends and family.

Facebook is NOT FOR CONTROVERSY of ANY KIND, no matter what religion and no matter what political persuasion.

They are for primarily different purposes but the principle of DELETING ACCOUNTS is the same in both cases. Someone REPORTS IT or the operator sees a problem first ... and then you are either “in violation” or not.

That's an excuse that FB uses. I know people who have pages set up for their pets. Others have 3 or 4 pages under false names. The ONLY way they get locked or pulled is because someone complains.

That's just it. The kid being 12 was just a pretext, but pretexts are easy to use if the Progressives are willing to submit complaints.

It's not actually all that hard to get a FB account locked down. Just organize a whole bunch of people to submit complaints. The first thing that happens is that the complaints hit a threshold that triggers the automated lock-down routine. Then a FB staffer takes a look and makes a determination on whether terms of service are violated.

The Progs are both able and willing to use its organizational capability to mount these kinds of speech denial attacks. Its a shame that Conservatives don't seem inclined to do the same - if there were a counter-effort targeting Progressive sites, it would be pretty easy to overwhelm FB's capability to conduct audits of pages that get automatically shut down.

Most of my messages on FB are from conservatives and conservative news sites. Have not had a problem.

LOL ... they get deleted too ... I’ve seen it because I’ve been involved in arguing with that group. There are also “reporting campaigns” where users of a similar persuasion all get together to report someone “in mass”!

I don't know if you remember but there was a "kill Sarah Palin" FB page. It took forever to get it pulled. Had it been a about a commie it would have been gone in a heartbeat.

They have different purposes, but they both have the same deleting protocol. It’s simply ... someone gets reported, and if you are in violation, you get blocked or deleted.

I’ve seen that on Free Republic and on Facebook.

I work with active conservative groups and in regards to these Muslims you mention and they get them deleted just as quickly. I don’t think you’ve “been around the block” there ... :-) ...
