Few things make me shudder quite like hearing someone use the phrase "traditional marriage" unironically.

This is one of those tiny but telling things. Katherine Timpf is a reporter for National Review Online. Shes a Millennial, a Hillsdale grad, and has published lots of things in right-of-center publications. And shes a libertarian.
One is not at all surprised to find libertarians, especially libertarians in their twenties, supporting same-sex marriage. Nor is one surprised to find libertarians working at National Review. What I find startling, but a sign of the times, is that a National Review writer not only doesnt support traditional marriage, but finds the term and concept viscerally disgusting.
A small thing, but a big thing too.
History is running right over the people standing athwart it yelling, Stop!
You know what, I am disgusted, I am disgusted that people give up marriage for the cheaper option of cohabitation quite a bit nowadays. I am sick that people try to pretend that your gender has changed when you still need those doses of steroids to keep feeling like the opposite gender, because your DNA still says you are your birth gender. I am disgusted when people pretend that behavior is safe and okay, when it causes plenty of problems, and there are problems with people spreading an incredibly disproportional amount of disease with a behavior.
She sounds like an idiot. What is wrong with the phrase “traditional marriage”? What would replace it? “Opposite sex marrige”? Sheesh!
How sad. And expected.
Anyone under 35 or 40 today is doing exactly as they have been taught, for most are obedient.
Yeah, true. But given this “disgust” imagine negotiating the
horizontal dancing! Not gonna happen. She’s a carpet muncher, for now.
Thanks for that info, I did not know that. I looked it up and they didn’t want anything like the Church of England interfering in their personal lives, so marriage was a civil ceremony. Sad, now the gov’t is interfering in our personal lives, forcing anyone that owns a business to go against their religious beliefs and cater gay weddings and provide abortions to employees. I don’t think any of it is gov’t business, not federal gov’t anyway.
