Earlier, we alerted you to HB 195, a constitutional carry bill that allows all law-abiding citizens in the state to carry as a matter of right -- without having to submit to any obnoxious background checks or waiting periods.
The bill is stuck in committee, as is its Senate counterpart, SB 342.
But the beauty of HB 195/SB 342 is that they would actually accomplish BOTH objectives -- establishing constitutional carry for BOTH open and concealed carry.
ACTION:
(1) Urge your state Representative and Senator to cosponsor and support HB 195 and SB 342. By clicking on the link here, the proper legislators will be automatically selected, and you can send a pre-written letter to them.
(2) Call Senator Joan Huffmans office at 512-463-0117 and ask her to bring up SB 342. Sen. Huffman is the Committee Chairman of the State Affairs Committee. You can email her at joan.huffman@senate.state.tx.us

Do it Greg!
I saw this- I really do not want to give out my phone number (required).

No excuses allowed on this subject. If I can do it, anyone can.

It's not just the money. The state is requiring you to obtain a LICENSE to exercise one of your God given, natural rights.
What's next? A government license to observe your religion?
Then call your Texas reps on the phone and demand that they sign on as cosponsors of these bills.
Maybe later in the year, I can get to Austin.

I might just do that. As a holder of the Texas ping list, I do try to alert our Texans to important 2nd Amendment issues I run across.
Hope you're doing well today, Johnny.
And except for my voice, I'm not doing too bad. I'm (barely) above 100 lbs today.

I want to open carry in Texas as well I spend a good deal of time there, mostly in the Dallas area.
I would open carry in heartbeat. It is a real pain exercising and keeping concealed at the same time.
Hope you are doing well.
And when I do that, I'll go buttonhole some politicians, assuming they are available when I can be there.
Some politicians just need to see a face and see who they are screwing over to convince them not to.

I’d love to carry big iron, on my hip.
Hubby and I are in disagreement on open carry. He’s not for it. I am.
Constitutional carry is dead on arrival. Barkin up a tree.
Open carry is my only choice when summer gets here and I quit wearing anything more than a wife-beater and shorts.
Right now, I could carry a full-size shotgun and nobody might notice, because it's COLD here and I wear LOTS of clothing.
But not this summer.

Open carry will happen. I might not see it, but it will eventually happen.
It won't happen with a 'we already lost' attitude like you have.
/johnny
>>Nope, it’s not.<<
Yep, it is. You are right when you say it will eventually happen. I believe that it will eventually happen, but it ain’t gonna happen in this session.
You will see permitted open carry signed into law.
/johnny
Thanks for the heads-up!
Well Johnny, I’m so confident that there will be no constitutional open carry, I’m willing to place a nice crisp $100 bill on it. You game?
Permitted open carry has about a 60/40 chance and I say this because that nutball Stauss is at the helm in the house.
