Preferential treatment has trumped merit. It’s the natural consequence of things like affirmative action.

Thus speak the professionals of the perpetually aggrieved minority. poor, poor babies. You didn;t get any nominations because you aren't relevant. Got that?

One of these days, Hollywood might make a movie documentary about Robert Smalls.

His mid-19th century history (a black American in slavery days) is incredible.

” “This is unjust, to see the lack of African Americans in the presentation. So we’re mad! We’re upset!”

He stressed that there are “so many” actors from various ethnics and racial groups.”

Time for whites and other “ethnic” groups to protest, the NBA and NFL. It seems racist that most of those athletes seem to be black and they only represent about 15% of the population.

Who gives a rat's hindquarters about the Oscars? I certainly don't.On those *incredibly* rare occasions when a movie comes along that I think I'll enjoy I rent it,borrow it from my town's library or buy it...I *never* go to theaters. That's the extent of the interest I have in Hollywierd and its “stars”.

"There is an invisible ceiling over their heads, that the Academy has put there"

Complain to the president of the Academy's Oscars committee...who happens to be a black woman.

Maybe this year’s Oscar’s is a backlash against such protests.

How do you become a Member of the Academy? Do you submit an application? Do you just pay dues? Are you appointed? Do you have to “rush” it like a fraternity? Rather than whine about the results, which are determined by the vote, why don’t you whine about getting the vote?

If the most PC bunch on the face of this earth didn’t nominate a black actor or actress then it’s pretty safe to say there weren’t any even remotely worthy candidates, I’d say.

No doubt there will be plenty of rich, white liberal actors doing the “hands up” and/or “I can’t breathe” thing to try and prove they’re on board with the latest “all whites are racists” agenda the WH is pushing these days.

I have a strong feeling that Hollywood is tired of black people. For many years now they have endured “the obligatory black people” in films, and even those used as “somebody for the villain to kill” have become trite.

Importantly, black people all used to be stereotyped as street thugs and gang bangers, but then a whole group of black actors broke out, each in their own individual typecasting. That is, if a production wants a particular type of character, they may have only one black actor to choose from. A different choice, and they get a completely different character.

Only a few white actors can get away with this, and first they must demonstrate they are flexible enough to play radically different roles, before they settle down into, for example, Jack Nicholson, who always plays Jack Nicholson.

Black actors need to evolve into something new. Hollywood is just tired of what they currently are.

Don’t they have Black Entertainment awards? How come no whites are allowed there? Isn’t that discrimination?
