A woman became locked in a gun safe at Tractor Supply Co. in Somerset County Saturday. Somerset Fire Chief Stephen Miller said the woman and her children were playing a game, which led to the woman getting stuck inside.
"Her and her kids were playing a game, and they pushed her in and locked the door. And that's how she became locked in there," Miller said.

She must have been small or the safe must have been large...............
I’ll bet those kids are grounded for life...
If all its gonna take is the Fire Dept to get the wife outta this thing, I want a better model.
Was she loaded at the time?
(Isnt the combo set from the factory at “0000”?)
I find it very strange that the store did not have the combination for the safe.
I would think that the store owner will be very upset. That is some fairly big money the owner will be losing.
I suppose he might sue the woman for the loss.
Stay safe !
The store owner is dumb not to have the combo handy. Kids are attracted to open safe doors and can easily end up locked in. Adults looking at the safe might open and close the door and unintentionally lock it. I blame both the woman and the store owner for being dumb.
the last couple I brought it was 123456
Even if the store owner got the default combination of say 0000 for the safe, how many people working there may see that and possibly change it? You cannot assume the safe combination will not be changed.
I fault the woman, not the store owner.
I blame Chuck Schumer for not seeing this potential deadly accident from those mean 2 ton safes.
We need legislation so that things like this never happen again.
If just one mother is saved.....
Didn’t Houdini say “safes were designed to keep people from breaking in, not to keep people from breaking out!”
You are correct. At least for Winchester and some others with electronic keypads.
Ha! Funny.
Are you kidding me? He'll be dam lucky if she doesn't wind up owning his store.
Anything like this just has to be "someone else's fault". /s
We need gun safe locks to prevent accidental closure of gun safes!
But to keep folks from accidentally abusing the gun safe locks, the gun safe locks need to be kept in gun safe lock safes (available in small, medium and large).
“(Isnt the combo set from the factory at 0000?)”
Well I have a Liberty Gun Safe and it was preset at the factory (so if you loose the combination, you can get it from the mfr.).
Another case of loony parents wanting to be friends with the kiddies instead of teaching them how to properly behave in public.
