There is an important lesson here for us all: How often genuine political promise coexists with puerility and worse.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest wasnt just being diplomatic or clever yesterday when he said he feels sad and sorry for Rudy Giuliani, the former Americas mayor whos been raging like a sidewalk lunatic at President Obama. There actually is something sad about Rudys long self-destruction, which began before his disastrous presidential primary bid of 2008.
Sad, but possibly instructive to the future sidewalk lunatics among todays Republican presidential-wannabes. Maybe you had to be with Giuliani at the start of his electoral career to learn what they and the rest of us should learn from this spectacle: not to gloat or cluck our tongues, but to consider how often genuine political promise coexists with puerility and worse...

Being trashed by rags like Salon should be worn like a badge of honor!!!!
And then only for “medicinal purposes!”
The disturbing thing is nobody backing Rudy up. Its time to stand up and tell it like it is. If enough people tell the truth about this poser it will be a lot harder to call it racist.
“SIdewalk Lunatic Power!!!....
Memo to Rudy: When you’re taking Liberal flak like this, you’ve scored a DIRECT hit on target! Bravo.
“Sad” is apparently the buzz word this time “folks”.
Conservatives have been so beat down, for so long, there is no innate “support each other” left in them.
That is a huge problem. One I hope the GOP quickly discard.
They need to support each other. Big time. The democrats won’t support them, and the media won’t support them, unless the people are supporting them.
The people will support them, if they stand up for each other.
So GOP stand up for each other.
It is probably too late. Rudy hit a nerve and he's got people talking.
Rudy did a good thing. A brave thing.
Maybe if Obama was on his 3rd wife and selected a convict like Kerik to be head of Homeland Security, Rudy would say he was raised like him and loved America.
More Alinsky crap coming up, I'm sure.
True. Very true.
That’s because now Roody would be able to surreptitiously sit under the White House dinner table and get thrown scraps that for some dinner guests weren’t strictly Halal
enough for them.
“JFK would be called a RW radical today”
No he would be considered a Center/Right Republican. You know a squishy RINO. And so should be cast out into the outer darkness, and his name should only be used as a curse word.
