Walker called out for 'silence' on Giuliani

The Washington Post editorial board is sharply criticizing Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) for his "silence" on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's controversial comments that President Obama does not love America.

Giuliani's comments came at a dinner attended by Walker, a likely 2016 presidential candidate, in New York City this week.

Walker later did not condemn the comments.

“The mayor can speak for himself," he said on CNBC the next morning. "I’m not going to comment on what the president thinks or not. He can speak for himself as well."

The Post called Walker out for not making stronger comments, and noted that Walker said he would "punt" on a question about evolution earlier this month.

"Mr. Walker likes to present himself as a man of courage, based on his record in Wisconsin, but maybe facing down public-sector unions doesn’t tell you all that much about the bravery of a Republican governor," the Post wrote. "On two occasions in recent days, he has proved himself incapable of saying basic truths that might offend some of his potential voters: First, that evolution is real, and second, that an honorable politician criticizes his opponent’s policies, not his patriotism."

The Post meanwhile praised Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a potential rival to Walker, for saying that “I believe the president loves America."

A spokeswoman for Jeb Bush has likewise said that he "doesn't question President Obama's motives."

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), though, has backed Giuliani, also drawing a response from the Post

"It was particularly pathetic to see Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), another would-be president, scrambling to steal some of the spotlight of Mr. Walker’s cowardice by issuing a statement titled, 'Gov. Jindal Refuses to Condemn Mayor Giuliani,'" the Post wrote. "The only response to that can be, who cares?"

Wasn’t calling you out on anything. Just gave my interpretation of what Walker was probably thinking.
Elections Do have many on edge though due to all the turds that win primaries giving us no real choice.

Political Correctness and heavy fear of attack by the media and Demothugs has a mighty hold on this country.

Which is why we all get so excited when one man states something that’s been obvious for years. We are starving for the truth and Rudy told it. He should keep on telling it and more people should join him. But I guess that’s what the death threats to Rudy were all about- making sure nobody else dares to join in the chorus.

I’m still not voting for him though, and will do a write in for either of the Texans first.

Wonder what Walker said to Trump that Trump said was “very interesting”?

I’m sure you’re right about Gov. Walker’s thinking. He has nothing to gain in the situation.

I mean, he *could* have said, “Sorry, I was dreaming about the blonde at the end of the table ...,” but not if he wants to be elected to anything.

Obama in this country and Cameron in the UK have reduced the size of armed forces even while making more military commitments to deal with the IS in Iraq or the Russians in Eastern Europe.

There is no military option involving defeat of any enemies with military means.

I read Peter Hitchens column in the “Daily Mail” some months ago where he expects the leaders of his country like Obama’s friend David Cameron to be at a negotiating table with the IS sometime in the future and the Islamic State will be normalized and guests at state dinners etc. etc.

So he’s kissing the butt of “friendly” Middle Eastern powers, but that’s going to entail selling Middle Eastern style censorship and propaganda, only the citizenry is going to look at their president like he’s sprouted antennas.

Well, this is looking like the run-up to WWII only with sand. It’s a shame that Russia suffered as they did when they tried to modernize under Yeltsin, the world would be a better place if that would have gone right and Putin had not happened.

For sure you can’t “normalize” relations with IS because while they are remarkably good at destroying they lack an aptitude for building an even marginally functional society. At least Hitler got Germany out from under sanctions and made the trains run on time. Now you take Iran OTOH...

Silence is a tactic.
