State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf wrote her college honors thesis on how conservative evangelical support for Israel complicates U.S. foreign policy, according to Indiana University records.
Harfs thesis further illustrates the collegiate thinking in an Obama administration that has alienated a key American ally in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Harf, 33, previously worked on Obamas 2012 campaign.
Harfs Indiana University honors political science professor said that Harf did not plan to pursue political science like her professor father Jim, but that she ended up becoming pretty good at it.
I always had a soft spot for Jim, since he first helped me realize I might be good at this line of work, and for Marie, who initially had no intention of following in her fathers footsteps but who turned out to pretty good at political analysis herself, the professor said.
Harf generated controversy this week for saying that the way to combat terrorists like ISIS is to help get them jobs.

going to be a newsflash all over the networks now. oh wait it’s the American LSM who will never report this to their millions of ignorant sheep.
Maybe killing ISIL terrorists is not the way to oppose them, but killing the 6.2 million Jews in Israel (another holocaust) is the way to bring peace in the Middle East according to oberstamfuehrer Sarf. National Socialism must be a part of political science these days, too.
‘How Conservative Support for Israel Complicates U.S. Foreign Policy’
I BET she got an A+++ on that one!
Wish he’d posted some quotes from her thesis
Why is this NAIVE CHILD in any position of authority?
Because here father is a bundler for Obummer.
Sounds like the Christians are standing in the way of her final solution to the Jews.
Pray America is waking
Yeah, she’s incredibly good at what she does. Lie.
this is what someone deceived by evil spirits looks like, its in her eyes,
Can’t be. She’s wearing the dark framed smartie glasses.
Marie insightfully discerned that ISIS immolaters did't "feel good" about themselves.
Plus Marie KNEW from her U of Va graduate studies that having self-esteem is crucial to making life choices.
So Marie went to work---she began gift-wrapping monogrammed Zippo lighters to ISIL immolaters.
Marie, herself, attached State Dept happy-face tags to each Zippo.
No, it was a "Doubleplusgood".
Oldthinkers unbellyfeel AmSoc.
I will NEVER understand the hatred for Jews and Israel by Americans.
I just don’t get it and never have.
How are there SO many in our government TODAY who are Jew haters? All of a sudden - BAM! -The U.S. Government is on the side of exterminating Israel. Only, we’re doing it in a somewhat more subtle way than the Arabs over there in the M.E.

James Harf on Mid-Term 2010 Elections
Posted by: Dustin York November 2, 2010
James Harf is the Associate Vice President and Director of the Center for Global Education at Maryville University. Harf is also a professor teaching Political Science courses at Maryville University. He brings to the classroom personal experiences of global research and travel.
A tiny glimpse of personal experiences include: surviving a terrorist bombing in London where six people within 30 feet were killed, helping to create a model for the Polish governments post-Cold War curriculum revision program and examining counter-terrorist measures in Egypt and other parts of the world.
He continues to lead numerous student study-abroad tours throughout the world. For years, Harf regularly appeared on TV as a commentator on world events.
Q: What sets the 2010 Mid-term elections apart from previous mid-term elections?
A: Mid-term elections are typically mid-course corrections to any anomalies that happened two years earlier. This is different for a couple of reasons. We had a failed economy and a failed war, which initially brought President Obama into power. The economy is not recovering as quickly as people thought it might, despite President Obamas best effort. We also still have troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. The second difference has been this emergence of the Tea Party- which essentially says that we want government out of everything, except we want government to be very much involved in telling us how to live our social lives. Its a contradiction. Richard Maddow of NBC used the phrase God, Guns and Gays. They want to put more religion into government, the want to protect the right to own guns and they want to keep gays out of everything.
Q: What issues should matter the most to the public?
A: What is interesting is, as a political scientist, we always says always keep it local. The point of fact is the candidates are not talking about local issues, but they are talking about national issues. The candidates are talking about the massive debt we [Americans] have. The Republican candidates are saying that the debt is a result of President Obama and the Democratic candidates, on contrary, a result of George Bushs policies. Bushs Tax cuts are set to expire- The mega-rich Republicans want to keep the tax cuts and the Democrats want to eliminate the tax cuts for the mega-rich. Another issue that is important in this election is that the Republicans want to turn back health reform.
Q: Are you satisfied with the choice of candidates in this election?
A: No, I am not satisfied with the choices. Ive been appalled watching this election and the incredible lack of knowledge that candidates have about how our government functions. One senate candidate did not know what the First Amendment was. There are candidates that contradict themselves. On one hand, they say that they do not want the government in personal lives and on the other hand, they want the government to stop abortions. Then there is the question of secret money that is coming from very wealthy people and is being funneled through groups, like the U.S. House of Chamber of Congress. Candidates are not disclosing where the money is coming from. Another issue in candidates is the issue of terrorism. A lot of Conservative candidates are making incredible racist and ethnic comments that we never had in elections before. I find it appalling and I cannot believe that a majority of Americans are going to resignate to that.

Yes, I said 'DERP'.
You have so nailed it! I can’t tell if that’s satire or truth!
Marie Harf is such an AIRHEAD!
It's like watching someone pour gasoline on you, and you ask them if they need a match.
The next Republican President, on his or her first day has to fire/remove every, and I mean every single Obama appointment in the government and worry about replacements later.
