Jane Fonda said she hoped for an open dialogue with veterans after about 50 former military members and supporters protested the actresss appearance Friday evening at the Weinberg Center for the Arts.
Whenever possible I try to sit down with vets and talk with them, because I understand and it makes me sad, Fonda told a relatively full theater, responding to a submitted question. It hurts me and it will to my grave that I made a huge, huge mistake that made a lot of people think I was against the soldiers.
In 1972 Fonda visited Hanoi, North Vietnam, where she criticized attacks on the dike system along the Red River. A U.S. investigation later revealed the publicity of these bombings as propaganda. Fondas statements and a photograph of her sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft battery outraged many Americans and veterans, leading many to call her Hanoi Jane and a traitor.

Too little, too late, traitor!
Well she was against the soldiers in the way she got involved. This was about collaborating with the direct military efforts of the opposition.
FUJF
Liberals think they love everybody and she is pained to discover that it “looks” like she didn’t (actually she pitted herself against those soldiers, and there were plenty of ways she could have protested the Vietnam war without doing that).
“Shed better pray that her final resting place is kept secret.
Theres not enough beer in Milwaukee...”
Beer, Iced Tea, coffee or just water will work.
This traitorous bitch made life miserable for any of us, who wore the uniform during her outrageous acts of treason.
It got so bad many of us could not wear our uniforms due to the attacks by her fellow maggots.
She and John Kerry were traitors, then and still are.
Jane’s dad made a mistake not wearing a rubber.
Saw one of these in a VFW. Best p**s I ever took.
Jane,if I ever meet you face to face-I too might make a huge, huge mistake.
No matter what Fonda says or does, there will always be a segment of society who will never forgive her. And this is understandable. Some actions are unforgivable. Prisons are full of people who are sorry.
My only point was that Fonda's apologies aren't new or particularly newsworthy. She's been apologizing for this for a long time now.
Rule of law. She’s a Fonda, so she skates, and that’s not just.
Forgiveness is PERSONAL. The rule of law requires respect in order for it to work. It’s in a bad place as it is right now. Trust in government is zero, and we all definitely believe there is two systems of justice - one for the wealthy and one for the rest.
STFU Hanoi Jane, and count your blessings over the fact you didn’t end up in a landfill somewhere. POS.
And at least Jane Fonda isn’t running for president!
No #@%&$ Jane! That is the understatement of the decade.
‘I made a huge, huge mistake’
Millions of people told her that a half century ago.
She is a slow learner!
Ted is even slower. Not only does he STILL believe in the Global Warming Scam, he thinks it will turn us into Fine Young Cannibals.
“Not doing it will be catastrophic. We’ll be eight degrees hotter in ten, not ten but 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.”

The main question that I would want to ask Ted Turner is:
“If you’re so rich, how come you’re not smart?!”
I am looking forward to their response.
It is awfully big of them to speak for these Veterans as if they haven't already made themselves clear on Hanoi Jane.
I was absolutely astounded the day I found out that he was once Superintendent of the school that became LSU.
Remember....Dance first, then piss. Just like at any Kennedy grave, custom must be observed.
OK, but I dance like the white boy I am! Oh Wait........
But that's just what I think.
