On the same Chicago trip where he gave his I am my own man foreign policy speech, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was set to raise north of $4 million.
Thats in one day.
Jeb Bushs team denied reports they planned to raise $100 million in the first quarter to scare other potential candidates out of the 2016 Republican primaries. But there is no denying that they are raising money and snapping up staff at a fevered clip. They seem to have only gathered steam since muscling Mitt Romney out of the presidential race.
Now Jeb is setting himself up nicely to be the Republican Partys inevitable nominee, according to the conventional wisdom.
Dont believe it. Jeb Bush certainly can win, but hes arguably the weakest Republican frontrunner since Nelson Rockfeller in 1964 the year Barry Goldwater won the nomination.
The latest CNN poll of national Republican voters doesnt even have Bush in first place. Mike Huckabee leads with 17 percent of the vote, Bush is in second at 12 percent, Scott Walker and Rand Paul each get 11 percent and Ben Carson takes 9 percent.
Jeb Bush is essentially a rounding error away from Ben Carson.
Obviously, the state-level polling in the early caucuses and primaries is more important the national polling. It just doesnt look much different. Bush has a three-point lead in the NBC/Marist poll of New Hampshire and is a point behind Huckabee in their Iowa survey.

2016 is a considerably different environment than 2000.
Back then a LOT of GOP primary voters supported the son of GHW Bush, in part or whole, as a way of sending a message to and about Bill Clinton through his designated heir (Gore). There was a great deal of poetic justice in paying back Clinton by denying him this “third term” by electing the son of the President that Clinton had denied a second term to.
IMHO Bush was the only candidate in 2000 with a shot at beating Gore. Additionally, had the Dems chosen Bill Bradley as their nominee, Bush would have lost.
Obama has no designated successor, and the emotions over the Clinton Admin have faded in the last 15 years. There’s also the stigma still associated with the GW Bush Presidency.
If Jeb tries to run using his brother’s playbook, he’s fighting the last war.
Jeb Bush is the current GOPe puppet. It is the GOPe money backing that also needs to be beaten. They have built a system that promotes buying the office, just like the democrat party.
What do we do if it boils down to Bush vs. Hillary? Hillary would finish us-unless the negro community organizer from Chicago does not kill us in his time remaining in office.
Not clubs, rubber hoses; leaves fewer bruises. If the lesson is not learned then move to clubs.
And he will be just as soon as the idiot Republicans nominate him. The Democrats will make sure of that.

Gov Pence wants child immigrants sent home

INDIANAPOLIS | Indiana Gov. Mike Pence wants the 245 unaccompanied child immigrants recently placed with Indiana relatives or sponsors sent back across the nation's southern border as soon as possible. In a letter sent Tuesday to President Barack Obama, the Republican said while he feels "deep compassion" for the children and believes they should be "treated humanely and with decency and respect," there is no place for them here. "Failure to expedite the return of unaccompanied children thwarts the rule of law and will only continue to send a distorted message that illegally crossing into America is without consequence," Pence said.
Pence demanded the president provide proof that Hoosier families the children have been placed with have legal immigration status and requested "real-time" updates when child immigrants are moved into or out of Indiana.
The U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement currently provides monthly updates. The governor also bemoaned that Indiana will be required to educate and provide health care for the children until they leave. "States should not be asked by the federal government to deal with the consequences of a failed national immigration policy," Pence said.
U.S. Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., said in a statement he shares Pence's concerns. "The best way to stop this humanitarian crisis is to reunite the children who have come to America with their families in their home countries," Coats said. "Doing so will deter more children from making the dangerous journey to the United States."
Indiana State Sen. Brent Steele, R-Bedford, went a step further. Steele claimed in a letter sent Tuesday to his southern Indiana constituents that Obama personally encouraged the flow of immigrant children and declared Indiana is unable and unwilling to assimilate them. "How far can you push a citizenry by increased taxation to pay for all these children before they revolt?" Steele asked.
Neither state nor federal taxes have increased due to this year's surge of unaccompanied child immigrants. In fact, Indiana's corporate income tax rate decreased 0.5 percent on July 1. A total of 30,340 unaccompanied child immigrants -- many fleeing horrific gang violence in Central America -- have been placed with U.S. relatives or sponsors through July 7, according to the federal refugee office. Just 0.8 percent have come to Indiana.
The refugee office said before a child is released, relatives and sponsors must verify their relationship with the immigrant child, pass a background check and in some cases a home study. All immigrant children receive pre-release vaccinations and medical screenings, and sponsors must agree to cooperate with all immigration proceedings. ####
“I think we should start calling him “Mitt Bush”. That way, when he loses, the GOP-E will better understand why.”
Somebody came up with the name Jitt Rombush, which fits perfectly.
Beat me to it... no pun intended :D
Yeah...too bad he didn't get some advice before releasing millions of e-mails to him without redacting personal info.
I really don’t care how much Jeb Bush raises. If it is him against the devil himself, I think I’ll just go fishing.
Jeb will never get my vote. Never.
Hildebeast will have no trouble at all beating Jeb ...
TED CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT!!!
If he is the nominee, the GOP will be beaten.
