DOD Report Details Israel's Quest for Hydrogen Bomb (Obama releases intel on Israeli nuke program)

In the midst of controversy over the Israeli prime minister's plans to address Congress next month, a researcher has won the release of a decades-old Defense Department report detailing the U.S. government's extensive help to Israel in that nation's development of a nuclear bomb.

"I am struck by the degree of cooperation on specialized war making devices between Israel and the US," said Roger Mattson, a former memer of the Atomic Energy Commission technical staff.

The 1987 report, "Critical Technology Assessment in Israel and NATO Nations," compares the key Israeli facilities developing nuclear weapons to Los Alamos and Oak Ridge National Laboratories, the principal U.S. laboratories that developed the bomb for the United States.

The tightly held report notes that the Israelis are "developing the kind of codes which will enable them to make hydrogen bombs. That is, codes which detail fission and fusion processes on a microscopic and macroscopic level."

Israel knows that Obozo is temporary. They also know full well the majority of Americans support Israel, her people, her safety.

Issue is, when leaders of nations come against the Almighty, the Almighty always comes out on top. lol

He is afraid of what Netanyahu will reveal during his speech to Congress. I suspect it will be threats from the US to attack Israel and down its warplanes if they attempt to attack Iran.

Do you think Obama should have stepped in and tried to stop the Judicial Branch from their ruling by telling his Administration to ignore the court?

Do you think that before 0bama the US has EVER intentionally damaged its relationships with allies?

Do you think that before 0bama the US has EVER intentionally taken subversive actions against our allies?

Geez - the judicial branch, on its own, can halt the release of the material. Why do you want to start an argument over 0bama - you won't win that one LOL.

Importantly, the first fission nuclear weapon produced a yield equivalent to 20,000 tons of TNT; whereas the first fusion nuclear weapon produced a yield equivalent of 10,000,000 tons of TNT.

A 20kt blast radius would be from 2-3.5 miles in radius. A 10Mt blast would be around 20 miles. Both would have other major effects outside of their blast radius.

This being said, a hydrogen bomb is effectively a large area weapon, which brings into question where it would be used.

If the Commander in Chief issued an order to the military to shoot British jets from the sky, what would those generals do?

If the Commander in Chief ordered the military to shoot Israeli jets from the sky, what would those generals do?

Israel has the technical capability to build a nuclear weapon. If Pakistan, North Korea, China, and India can build one, there is little doubt that Israel can do it with or without US help.

The diplomatic reputation of the United States in gone. The trust between the U.S. and our only great Western ally, Israel, in the Middle East is gone.

And Obama, for once in his political career may have told the truth in saying he would stand with Islam no matter what.

Prior to 1938 Einstein did not think an atomic bomb was possible. He was using protons to split the nucleus and it didn’t work. The Germans figured out that neutrons could be used to split the nucleus and this moved them way ahead in the development.

Einstein is quoted as saying that the chances of splitting the atom were similar to “shooting a bird flying at night in a country with very few birds!”

To make certain the U.S. was aware of the danger, in July 1939, a few months before the beginning of World War II in Europe, Szilárd and Wigner visited Einstein to explain the possibility of atomic bombs, which Einstein, a pacifist, said he had never considered.

He was asked to lend his support by writing a letter, with Szilárd, to President Roosevelt, recommending the U.S. pay attention and engage in its own nuclear weapons research. One of those feared secret German nuclear facilities, apparently the largest of the Third Reich, covering 75 acres in an underground complex, was discovered in Austria in December 2014.

The letter is believed to be “arguably the key stimulus for the U.S. adoption of serious investigations into nuclear weapons on the eve of the U.S. entry into World War II”.

In addition to the letter, Einstein used his connections with the Belgian Royal Family and the Belgian queen mother to get access with a personal envoy to the White House’s Oval Office.

President Roosevelt could not take the risk of allowing Hitler to possess atomic bombs first. As a result of Einstein’s letter and his meetings with Roosevelt, the U.S. entered the “race” to develop the bomb, drawing on its “immense material, financial, and scientific resources” to initiate the Manhattan Project. It became the only country to successfully develop an atomic bomb during World War II.

"Well, the bustards said there would be “a price to pay”."

Looks like Obama and Jarrett have a scorched earth policy for the next 2 years.

By my reckoning, Mecca is just over 20m in diameter. It would be a nice going away present.

Israel has a distinct advantage that Islam does not. Israel’s deity is real and Islam’s deity is not. Israel’s deity has said many times that Messiah will spring from David and some day will return to claim David’s throne. So, that lineage exists at this very moment and has been divinely protected since the passing of King David c. 970BC. Islam? Not so much. The best Islam can muster is that its “Mahdi” will come out of a well.

When a Muslim yells “allahu akbar”, he is not saying that his deity is great, he is claiming that his deity is greater than any other deity and by implication, greater than Israel’s deity.

Islam has two cities that are sacred to it, Mecca and Medina. Israel has Jerusalem. Let us see which deity has the power to protect what they claim as their own. Some day we may get to see the outcome.

Not everyone can be behind 12 inches concrete or 24 inches damp soil, FRiend. I would say using neutron bombs during a war on your own soil is a last ditch effort to turn the tide. If you considered doing it, you most likely have already lost.

Remember, this is Israel. Every house probably has a shelter.

Good. Israel has the bomb. We have known that for years. Big deal. The bomb is the only way that Israel can defend their tiny nation of 7 million people from 500 million screaming, murdering, raping, pillaging, thug slimeball murderers of the cult religion of the sun god Allie-allie-all home free. Without it and the threat of it, Israel’s only chance for defense is the bomb.
