Egypt says it has bombed Islamic State targets in Libya, hours after the group published video showing the apparent beheadings of 21 Egyptian Christians.
State TV said the dawn strikes had targeted camps, training sites and weapons storage areas.
Earlier, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said Egypt had the "right to respond" against IS.
A video emerged on Sunday showing a group wearing orange overalls being forced to the ground and decapitated.
IS militants claim to have carried out several attacks in Libya, which is in effect without a government.
"Egypt reserves the right to respond at the proper time and in the appropriate style in retaliation against those inhuman criminal killers," President Sisi said.
"Egypt and the whole world are in a fierce battle with extremist groups carrying extremist ideology and sharing the same goals."
The kidnapped Egyptian workers, all Coptic Christians, were seized in December and January from the coastal town of Sirte in eastern Libya, under the control of Islamist groups.

I've studied lots of prophecies regarding the end times, but never really focused on Egypt. Thanx for the prompt. Sounds like The Muzzie Brotherhood and or ISIL.
A second and more chilling prophecy lies in the “cruel master and fierce king” that will rule over them. This future dictator will be the antichrist. Daniel records that the antichrist will invade not only Egypt, but the entire Middle East during the Tribulation.
“He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand. He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape” (Daniel 11:40b-42).
It is Egypt (the king of the South in Daniel) along with Syria (the king of the North) who rise up against the antichrist during the Tribulation. The rebellion is met with swift destruction as the antichrist usurps control over Egypt. Additionally, Isaiah 19 prophesies that Egypt will undergo serious environmental disasters. Yet in the end, Egypt will become a land of believers again.

I used to think it was inexperience, hubris, ignorance, error, unqualified for the job, etc. I now believe all that we are witnessing is intentional and more or less planned. Egyptian bombing of the bastards in Libya must be followed by an armored invasion. Eventually, videos of captured beards being executed by firing squads should be publicized.
Algeria should get off their butts and invade from the west. In less than a month, Libya’s Islamic State should be defeated. The ISIS fighters and any other cowards who hide and run away should be captured and executed with their families, if they have any. It’s hard for me to say this, but the world doesn’t need to deal with feral animals AGAIN, a decade later.
ERADICATION SHOULD BE THE GOAL, anything less is considered “weakness” by the seventh century enemy.
Next, with other small Arab armies, Yemen, Syria and western Iraq should get their turn.
