A UT-Arlington student who claimed she was threatened at gunpoint on campus this week admitted Friday that shed lied, a university spokeswoman said.
The student told police she hadnt even been at the school the day she said the incident occurred.
UT-Arlington had been investigating the complaint with Arlington, Denton and University of North Texas police, school spokeswoman Kristen Sullivan said.
Officials have not released the students name, and it was unclear Friday night whether she would be charged with filing a false police report.
The student could not be reached for comment.

The student also posted on social media that the man might have targeted her because she is Muslim. In a Facebook post, she referred to the killings of three Muslim students this week in Chapel Hill, N.C.

In a sane world, she would be kicked out of school, and the matter would be closed.
“and it was unclear Friday night whether she would be charged with filing a false police report. “
In a sane world, that would be open and shut, and anyone inconvenienced with her stupidity would get an apology at the least.
Expect this form of liberal activism to ramp us as the anti-gun mind control propagandists work towards their end goal of trying to disarm law-abiing Americans. They have no clue what lays in store for them once their usefulness is expended.
The muzzie and the black racist communities seem to be learning from each other.
The Muzzies (i.e., the well known advocates of mass murder, slavery and oppression of non-Muslims) SO want to be seen as victims. They are anything but.
She must be a member of a protected class.
It IS clear she made a claim
It IS clear she recanted
It's NOT clear she will be charged.
Does anyone remember the UT-Arlington Muslim student who went to a gun show and was not harassed but wrote a sh*tty article anyway? It was a few years ago. i wonder if this incident was by the same person. Any clues at all?
Yet another Selfie.
Following the typical leftist playbook. . .claim ‘hate crime’ victim status to bring ‘awareness’. . .and then fess-up to making up the whole thing and never be punished for it.
For once this statement almost seems plausible. It seems to me that the police could or should check out her story, if for the odd reason that it’s not the story, but the recantation, that is b.s.
There are several possibilities, here. The description is so *normal* that it makes me wonder. Usually a hoaxer adds some odd, personal bit that sticks out as unlikely.
Granted, there are a lot of white pickup trucks, but a hoaxer would typically just say a pickup, not a Ford pickup. With a Texas flag on the antenna.
A quick DMV check might show at the extreme 2,000 white Ford pickup trucks from Arlington/Ft. Worth to Denton, in a radius of 12 miles. Of those, look for white male owners from the age of 25-40.
My guess is 750, tops. Check that list against a bunch of other lists, such as arrests, concealed carry permits, and who knows what all else.
All the police have to do is find a white Ford pickup with a Texas flag on the aerial, a white owner of the right age, etc.
Importantly, if they find the guy, he might not be a thug, but somebody she knew and didn’t like.
Waiting for the announcement of the Federal investigation into this epidemic of false hate crime complaints in three... two... one... never.

How can we not know who she is but know her Facebook ID and other social media info?
Her name was mentioned in another article. it is out there.
It is a serious charge and must be investigated and someone prosecuted. If we learned anything from our media heroes it is not that she once ed. It is that it sounds godlod, follows the narrative, and a good excuse to prosecute some white male. Fake but accurate. Courage.
I go to school there. It’s going to be a LONG 3-4 years....
May G__d keep my sanity...

And may He protect you
Campus carry is being debated in the Texas Senate.
