Oregon’s top Democrats urged Gov. John Kitzhaber to resign Thursday, saying he cannot lead the state effectively amid a growing ethics scandal involving his fiancée, a green-energy consultant accused of using her relationship with the governor to land contracts for her business.
Senate President Peter Courtney said he and House Speaker Tina Kotek asked Kitzhaber, a Democrat who recently started his fourth term, to step down.
“I finally said, ‘This has got to stop,’” Courtney told reporters after he and Kotek met with the governor. “I don’t know what else to do right now. It seems to be escalating. It seems to be getting worse and worse.”
The state treasurer also joined in the call for Kitzhaber to relinquish his office. …

Typically, a lib has to do something really bad to fall from grace. Torricelli and Blagojevitch come to mind. Anthony Weiner got away with it till he became a repeat offender, then there’s Charlie Rangel’s tax evasion slap on the wrist by the Democrat held House. And, a although Marion Berry was no longer mayor, he was elected to DC city council. William Jefferson had his “cold cash” in his Katrina struck home, and Alcee Hastings, impeached from his Federal Judgeship and kicked off the bench for soliciting a $150,000 bribe was subsequently elected to the US House.
Well...since Oregon is pretty much a one party state, they really don’t need to.

Well, sure. I mean everybody in politics shaves a few corners here and there, right? But this doesn’t look good...

The rats want him to step down not becuase they feel he’s despicable and abused his office but they’re afraid he might bring more of them down with him. Corruption runs deep they’re all in on it. If he resigns it’s out of the news spotlight

Kitzhaber's involvement with Hayes is simply another example of poor character and judgment. Hope he enjoyed that piece of ass; it's going to be very expensive.

Only because it’s a forgone conclusion that he will HAVE to resign. This will give Courtney & the others cover later on. Otherwise, they’d hang tough like the Dems always do.
