JRW Supporters Suggest Decision To Take Title Racially Motivated

February 11, 2015 2:58 PM

(CBS) – There are accusations that racism was behind the decision by Little League International to strip the Jackie Robinson West team of the national title over cheating by the adults who run the team.

“We know that we’re champions, our parents know that we’re champions and the team’s parents know we’re champions and Chicago knows we’re champions,” said JRW catcher Brandon Green.

Green said the players did nothing wrong as he stood with his mother, Rev. Jesse Jackson and Fr. Michael Pfleger at the headquarters of Rainbow Push.

“It is amazing to me that whenever African-Americans exceed the expectations, that there is always going to be fault,” Venisa Green said.

Venisa Green said Little League officals were bullied into taking away JRW’s championship.

“Little League says that they teach character and they teach courage, well this isn’t an act of courage and it sure isn’t an act of character,” she said.

Fr. Michael Pfleger called the decision racist.

“You need to reverse your decision and you need to do it now,” Fr. Pfleger said.

Rev. Jesse Jackson also suggested race was behind the decision.

Are there no “white” kids who play ball in Chicago?
Where is the “diversity”?

Obviously rules and regulations should only apply to blacks when they are to their benefit. In all other cases blacks should be free to ignore said rules and regulations without penalty or comment. That is only just.”

It really is racially oriented because it is part of their culture to cheat.

Death Threats for Suburban Little League Official Who Reported Jackie Robinson West; Priest Accuses Him of Racist 'Witch Hunt'

After Jackie Robinson West Little League was stripped of its national championship, Chris Janes' phone blew up with death threats.

By Dennis Robaugh (Patch National Staff) February 11, 2015 at 2:02pm

In a press conference Wednesday, the Rev. Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Parish on the South Side singled out Janes for criticism and said Janes was on a racially motivated “witch hunt.”

“I wonder if the same thing would’ve happened to another league, another team, another place,” Pfleger said at the press conference. “It’s most unacceptable to go after the children and target the children.”

http://patch.com/illinois/evergreenpark/evergreen-park-little-league-official-hit-death-threats

Pfleger is the same priest that called for the murder of a gun shop owner and state representatives.

ISRA: Chicago Priest Calls for Murder of Gun Shop Owner

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., May 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):

Nobody expected Saturday's Operation PUSH protest at Chuck's Gun Shop & Range to be anything other than a circus of the bizarre.

However, nobody anticipated that an address by a Chicago priest would include a call for the murder of a suburban gun shop owner and legislators who oppose gun control.

During an address at an anti-gun rally in front of Chuck's, Rev.

Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina's Church, exhorted the crowd to "drag" shop owner, John Riggio, from his shop "like a rat" and "snuff" him.

Rev. Pfleger went on to tell the crowd that legislators that vote against gun control legislation should be "snuffed" as well. As many know, "snuff" is slang for especially violent murder.

As did many of you, I played Little League. We knew the kids against whom we competed. They were our friends and went to our school as well as nearby schools. My last year of Little League, I made the All-Star team. It would have been horrible for kids, who deserved to be on the team, to lose their spot because ringers were brought in. There is no way these kids did not know what was going on. They just wanted to win and it didn’t matter that everyone involved joined in the cheating. They do not deserve to be associated with the name Jackie Robinson.

Another stirling example of how rules are supposed to be ignored for blacks. Affirmative action wasn’t enough, so rules are also supposed to be ignored. For blacks to say it is racist and not fair to the kids is the height of hypocrisy. First, without the “ringers” they may not have won so for them to say they won is questionable. Second, to say the violation of the rules should be ignored because the kids shouldn’t have to pay for an adults “mistake” is total BS as you can bet the kids knew who was and wasn’t a ringer. Also, it is the same BS argument used by Obama and the dems for the kids of illegals. Until blacks start taking responsibility for their own actions and accept consequences without playing the race card, they will forever be stupid individuals on the Democrat plantation.

There was a news report that mentioned some of the players on the other teams told their coaches and parents that they had never seen some of the “new” players at any other games prior to the championships.

That report has since been buried by the media.

Indiana Little League Team Says It Feels Cheated by JRW Scandal

February 12, 2015

The team lost to JRW in the Great Lakes championship, preventing them from advancing

A Little League team from southern Indiana says it feels cheated by the revelation that an Illinois team used ineligible players en route to a national championship last summer.

The New Albany Little League All-Stars lost to Chicago’s Jackie Robinson West in the Great Lakes championship last summer after holding a 7-3 lead until the final two innings.

JRW Stripped of Little League World Series Title

The team’s manager, Josh Biven, said the loss was difficult but is harder to take now that Little League International has stripped district, state, Great Lakes and national championship titles from Jackie Robinson West for using players from outside the league’s boundaries.

“All I wanted to do was go to Williamsport,” New Albany All-Star David Newbanks told the News and Tribune. “We played hard and we deserved to go. They took away the opportunity for us to go to Williamsport. That was the chance of a lifetime.”

Already the Evergreen Park Little League coach not only has had his life threatened by a Chicago priest, but he is being called just like James Earl Ray the killer of Martin Luther King.

Jackie Robinson West Whistleblower Gets Extra Police Attention Amid Threats

By Mark Konkol on February 12, 2015 4:51pm | Updated on February 12, 2015 5:32pm

Evergreen Park Little League vice president Chris Janes noticed news reports during and after the World Series that quoted suburban officials celebrating various players as hometown heroes, which raised questions about whether the Morgan Park-based Jackie Robinson West abided by Little League residency rules.

The Evergreen Park man who blew the whistle on Jackie Robinson West has been called a racist, received death threats and been told by his boss not to come to work because of safety concerns in the 24 hours since Little League International stripped the South Side team’s U.S. title.

Chicago police have instructed beat officers to keep close watch on Chris Janes’ place of employment at the request of the company’s regional manager, a police source told DNAinfo Chicago.

“The regional manager requested special police attention because he has received so many phone calls from so many upset people,” the source said. “There haven’t been any incidents but we are making sure officers are aware of the situation and check in regularly.”

Janes, the Evergreen Park Athletic Association vice president, was the first to ask Little League International to look into allegations that JRW cheated by improperly stacking its roster with players outside its district.

On Tuesday night, Janes filed a report with Evergreen Park police about the threatening phone messages he received on his home line such as “I hope you die,” “rot in hell” and “f-— off,” among other things.

Janes said the angry social media attacks and other messages picked up steam after the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Church publicly accused him of having racial motivations for pushing Little League to investigate Jackie Robinson West.

“They have the ability to rally people and that can be for good or bad. On the radio today, Rev. Jackson called me a racist. … Coupled with the fact that people are posting my phone number and address online, what is the intent? What good can come from that?” said Janes, who is married to an African American woman with whom he has four children.

The man who blew the whistle on the Jackie Robinson West Little League team claims he’s been receiving death threats for spoiling the youngsters’ glory.

The team from Chicago’s South Side was stripped of its US Little League Championship on Wednesday for using suburban players from outside its geographic boundaries.

Chris Janes — the vice president of the Evergreen Park Athletic Association and coach of a team that lost 43-2 to Jackie Robinson in four innings — had emailed Little League International in October to alert officials that he and others thought the all-star squad had been “manipulating, bending and blatantly breaking the rules for the sole purpose of winning at all costs.”[…]

Belisle told local news outlets he feels for the Chicago kids and is sickened by the actions of the adults who orchestrated the scheme.

“When you start putting a team together for that reason and that reason only, you lose sight of what you’re playing here. You’re playing Little League baseball,” he told WJAR-TV.

Little League® International Finds Jackie Robinson West Little League Violated Rules and Regulations Suspensions Handed Out, U.S. Championship Title Revoked, Special District Advisor To Be Named

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (February 11, 2015) – After an extensive review of the operations of Jackie Robinson West Little League and Illinois District 4, the Little League International Charter/Tournament Committee has determined that the Jackie Robinson West Little League and Illinois District 4 Administrator knowingly violated Little League International Rules and Regulations by placing players on their team who did not qualify to play because they lived outside the team’s boundaries.

The Charter/Tournament Committee has decided to vacate the league’s wins from the 2014 Little League Baseball® International Tournament, including its Great Lakes Regional and United States Championships, and suspend team manager, Darold Butler, from Little League activity. Illinois District 4 Administrator, Michael Kelly, has also been removed from his position. Jackie Robinson West Little League has been placed on probation with its tournament privileges suspended until such a time that new leadership in the positions of President, Anne Haley, and Treasurer, Bill Haley, have been elected or appointed, and that the league is fully compliant with all Little League International Regulations.

Little League International found that Jackie Robinson West Little League used a falsified boundary map for their 2014 tournament, and that Jackie Robinson West Little League officials met with other leagues in Illinois District 4 to try to get the territory they wrongfully claimed was theirs for their 2014 tournament.

“For more than 75 years, Little League has been an organization where fair play is valued over the importance of wins and losses,” said Mr. Stephen D. Keener, Little League International President and CEO. “This is a heartbreaking decision. What these players accomplished on the field and the memories and lessons they have learned during the Little League World Series tournament is something the kids can be proud of, but it is unfortunate that the actions of adults have led to this outcome. As our Little League operations staff learned of the many issues and actions that occurred over the course of 2014 and prior, as painful as this is, we feel it a necessary decision to maintain the integrity of the Little League program. No team can be allowed to attempt to strengthen its team by putting players on their roster that live outside their boundaries.”
