President Barack Obama had a message for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday: German Chancellor Angela Merkel would not have accepted an invitation to speak before Congress without first notifying him.
“As much as I love Angela, if she was two weeks away from an election, she probably would not have received an invitation to the White House, and I suspect she wouldn’t have asked for one,” Obama said at a Monday press conference after meeting the German leader in Washington.
Obama’s comments are said to reflect his anger over the fact that Netanyahu accepted an invitation from House Speaker John Boehner to address a joint session of Congress. […]

Few people know this about Merkel but she absolutely hates to give speeches. She’ll refrain from off-the-cuff question and answer periods or reporter interviews, unless it’s absolutely necessary. If she is forced into a speech situation....it rarely will run more than fifteen minutes.

Merkel is not facing a neighbor that has openly voiced its desire for the destruction of her state and people and that is hell-bent on acquiring nuclear weapons.

It would be nice if Prime Minister Harper was invited to sit in on the speech. He has been a friend of Israel and would probably love to be there.

The average American still gets his information from the mainstream media. My local ABC radio station carries Rush Limbaugh. The contrast between Limbaugh and the ABC radio news could not be greater. If you work for a living and hear the radio news on your evening commute home you will think the economy is great and Obama is wonderful.
