The "snowmaggedon" of the past two weeks will almost certainly move Boston into the top 10 snowiest winters of all time Monday.
"It's like the Energizer Bunny. It just keeps going," said Storm Team 5 meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon.
The seemingly never-ending snowfall will give Boston over 73 inches for the winter, passing the 72.9 inches that fell during the winter of 1903-1904.
As of 7 a.m., 66.3 inches had fallen this winter season at Logan Airport, where snow is officially measured.
"For the past 14 days it seems like we have had a constant snow removal operation in Boston," said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.
Boston also set a record with the most snow in 30 days with 60.8 inches.
The prior record was the 58.8 inches that fell before, during and after the Blizzard of 1978. However, this time that record was set in 17 days, not 30.

I’ll ask my brother out there about that, he must think it’s funny.
Why is the sky crying? Waaaaaaaaa!!!
I always was a snow walker but no more, because of my age and a fear of falling.
Walking in a heavy snowstorm at night was awesome——it was so quiet.

Yes, please do so.
the non-event is over here. Snow stopped. Normal day tomorrow and parking ban will end in the morning ...
Spring starts here in 3 weeks.
Did the groundhog not see it’s shadow? LOL.
I predict spring will come on March 21st.
Yes...maybe just a short walk on a flat straight sidewalk sometime. Maybe with a walker aide....it would still be fun...and “safe” for you
They CAN’T be allowed to dump SNOW into the harbor. Don’t they realize there is (ugh) SALT in that snow plowed off the streets. There is so much snow on the ground that they will actually make the ATLANTIC Ocean into salt water.
With that salt in the water, how will the fish and other sea life manage to survive.
Doesn’t this violate the acts protecting Endangered Species?
SOmething must be done....quickly
” Of course, thats a threat of snow. In Los Angeles”
May it snow on Algore’s Santa Barbara estate....
I posted this later in this thread. I apologized to the 88 conservatives caught in the storm (grew up in Newton) : )
Yes, yes...the ocean will get saltier!!! The fish, the algae the phytoplankton...OH NO!!!
Supposedly, there are only 4 cities/towns out of ~280 total that have the waiver paperwork filed to dump snow into the ocean.
And with at least one, if not two more storms coming within the next few days, if there’s no room today, there’s going to be more room then?
Gotta love “progressives” and their trains of thought...
” Gotta love progressives and their trains of thought...”
Progs don’t THINK......they “FEEL “
Very true. They “feel”.
No. Of course I read more into comments such as “Let them drown and freeze in their snow, serves them right”, etc.
I notice some people from states like Arizona and Texas seem to think they are clean as a whistle when it comes to the stain of liberalism, elected officials such as John McCain and Sheila Jackson notwithstanding.
And, you weren’t one of those people, except to say people up north say they aren’t worried about snow. So just forget I even pinged you on it.
I will most certainly be more careful.
Nope, except for the Cedars, everything is largely barren and will be for at least a month. We did hit the mid-60s on Saturday, but it went back down to below freezing by yesterday.
McCain spent 21,600,000 to win, and he had Palin running all over here boosting him.
Hayworth spent 1.8 million.....all he had.
LOL...I guess the same could be said of just about any candidate anywhere.
The only way a real conservative candidate could run up here is if they were personally wealthy, because they sure aren’t going to get any cash from the RNC.
And who could blame the RNC. To them, it would appear to be wasted money.
Good point.
Is that where he lives now? How about an earthquake?
