Given the SCOTUS' refusal to get involved today, is there now any doubt how they will rule this summer?
course not because DC is full of perverts and homosexuals who have many cocktail elitist parties and won’t the liberals , communists and, liberaltarians be happy
Selective county offices in the state are either refusing to issue licenses or are closing their doors rather than comply with the federal order: Lauderdale, Shelby, Houston, and Tuscaloosa counties have been identified.
Stand firm Bama. Make them enforce it.
It’s about time some stood up to the homostapo and the ACLU.
Shame most other states won’t stand up against this sham, and to think that most states have now seen millions of voters ignored because of a few radicals.
Madison County (Huntsville, Madison cities) is flying rainbow flags outside its building - and the media is crawling all over it, breathlessly awaiting the first licensed “couple” to emerge.
Meanwhile, a “Reverend” (named Felicia) is in Cullman, awaiting the chance to marry a pair down there... hearing that Cullman is issuing applications, but not licenses.
This is bad. Very bad.
Genesis 19 and Isaiah 5:20 apply.
Actually, those who have chosen to obey God have done so.
This day was inevitable for two reasons: (a) Allowing government to both license reward marriage (and thus getting complaints from those being left out of the ‘rewards’); and (b) too many who oppose God.
The only remaining question in my head: will it be 5-4, 6-3, or 7-2?
Not a good day.
Bad optics. Alabama is still living down the last time its Governor told the Supreme Court to go to hell. You're begging for comparisons to Wallace's stand in the schoolhouse door.
Upshot is that Alabama is now - despite the will of both the people and the state legislature - the 37th state to allow gay marriage
Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.
My US Constitution, article 3, section 2 clearly states that in ALL CASES where a STATE is a PARTY to the action, the Supreme Court and ONLY the Supreme Court has LEGAL Jurisdiction. No Inferior Court has the authority under the Constitution to even hear the case, let alone rule on it.
Tell the inferior court to pound sand.
There was an appeal to SCOTUS: they refused to stay the lower court’s ruling. So... yeah.
Expecting the courts, full of gays from the bench to the security desk, to prevent obtaining ‘the prize’ is a fool’s errand.
It will take each person, including bureaucrats, to stop it by refusing to act. Down tools and see if the feds will be foolish enough to use force.
That is a valid point. But some state, any state, is going to have to draw a line in the sand. It’s getting to the point where we have nothing to lose..except what little we have left of our freedoms.
Alabama needs to just repeal the marriage process altogether. Anyone wanting to get married will just have to find another state.
People got what they wanted out of that staged and prearranged event involving Governor Wallace and the Kennedy Administration.
Wallace got to make his speech and launch his national political career and JFK got to see the court ordered integration go forward in Alabama without the violence that had come down at Oxford, Mississippi that has hurt the Kennedy Administration.
Wallace backed down after he put on this show......it was all for show.
I suspect the Republicans in Alabama are putting on a show for now and will do the same thing in the end, back down.
But the situation is NOT analogous, Ted Olson’s arguments notwithstanding. It was, and is, wrong to discriminate against blacks, or any other group, based on the color of their skin because that is an immutable characteristic.
One’s sexual lifestyle is not an immutable characteristic, but a lifestyle CHOICE. There are many possible lifestyle choices — are we now going to posit that from now on, whatever sexual proclivities and actions certain individuals want to participate in are beyond the power of a state to prohibit? Where will it end?
If it was going to ever happen at all you would think it would have in the last 40+ years over the imposed legality of killing unborn people. It’s hard to imagine it would happen over ‘gay marriage’ now, at least for me.
Freegards
Morgan County (Decatur) is not issuing any marriage licenses to anyone today; will consult with County Attorney.
