The day Wallace stepped aside was the day public education started going to hell. Hindsight is 2020.

Well okay there. Didn't realize this was a Klan website.

They have ruled, 37 times with the sodomites. No need to do anything other than what they are doing, siding with another robed tyrant to destroy marriage. The ring leader of course is Roberts, and we all know why. Thanks George W. Bush for appointing a closet-case to the US Supreme Court. You knew he was unqualified when you appointed him and you didn’t care. With republicans appointing liberals like Roberts and Kennedy democrats have no reason to ever worry about a Supreme Court nominee again.

It’s not. Especially considering how the Klan is a Democrat organization.

The day that the federal government and the courts got their foot into the door of the schools everything went downhill. It was people like Wallace (Democrat) who gave the courts and feds the excuse they needed.

“That issue was settled at Appomattox”.

And we have all become slaves of the Federal government since.

But if there were does a state have the Constitutional right to nullify that law by ignoring it.

No. But there is no such provision in the Federal Constitution.

Painting a negative picture of resisting gay marriage by comparison to Wallace and segregation led me to consider you a supporter of ‘marriage equality’.

Well then you were wrong.

You do seem to show up in these forums to offer contrary opinions a lot......

That's right. I'm a conservative in all senses of the word - which means I don't approve of anarchy. When a court issues a ruling I disagree with, I express my disapproval and then I obey it. Some of the talk on this thread is radical in the worst sense. This is either a country of laws or it's a country of the mob.

Be careful what you ask for. Just ask the Russians - the Left can out mob-rule us any day of the week.

I didn't think so. Which is why I was surprised to see a poster apparently defending Wallace and segregation.

And “Catholic” Bret Baier will not offer his opinion and say the ruling is unjust. He will keep his mouth shut or before fired from queer loving Fox News. No in the media stands for real marriage any longer. They have all caved.

And how will the feds come in and compel Alabama authorities or preachers to conduct marriages? What if they just say no? Are they going to jail people who refuse.

My guess is ACLU lawyers will find plaintiffs to sue each and every official refusing to perform weddings. They'll seek writs of mandamus to force them to do so. Legal fees for the officials will be extremely high and eventually they will capitulate. It's very expensive and kind of pointless to defy federal court orders. And yes, theoretically they could go to prison for contempt of court although that seems unlikely at this point.

Seriously, either we believe in state rights and sovereignty or we don’t.

Or you believe that states have some rights but not all rights. To believe that Loving was wrongly decided you'd need to believe that the 14th Amendment doesn't mean what it plainly says.

It's bizarre. But the Putin thing has been going on for a while - seeing posters publicly endorse Wallace and segregation is a new one for me.

“Conservative religious people need to clean up their own backyard about sex.”

This is true in many more ways than you mention. God’s people need to behave like they really are God’s people. Young women in “conservative” evangelical churches often dress as immodestly as their secular counterparts. They have no concept of “modest” dress. The young men are often as improper in their behavior towards young women as their secular counterparts. The middle aged are sadly divorcing without proper cause. Unwed pregnancies are becoming commonplace. No wonder secular society is corrupt...the “church” has - in many cases - stopped being a good example to emulate. True reform has to start with us that claim the name of Jesus Christ that our actions and behavior always reflect moral behavior....and the kind that starts from a clean heart...not just the desire to look “good.” Then we can have a real influence (salt and light) on the world.

Now that being admitted as the root problem, we still have to deal with damage being done by courts, etc.. Whereas the GOP cannot “save” us, if it doesn’t act in a morally right way (oppose sexual immorality - in this case homosexual marriage) then it can make things “worse.”

So, folks that care what God thinks need to keep pushing the GOP to the “right” and not grow weary in this. At the same time, clean our own houses.

You know if it wasn’t for the failure of “Christians” to oppose the hetereosexual immorality that really started going South in the 60s, we wouldn’t be in this mess with homosexual sin being called “normal.” However, we compromized and actually assimilated the heterosexual sin of the culture into our own ranks. Now it is lead to where we are now. I firmly believe that God’s judgement is going to land on this country, and as one of those “Christian’s” that didn’t act..and was compromised...I bear responsibility. God have mercy on me, and save me and my fellow believers from our own folly, and then save the country.

Give me a break. If you think what the poster said was racist, then you also think Al Sharpton is a Saint.

@ Alter...”This is either a country of laws or it’s a country of the mob”

What are you talking about? We already ARE under “mob” rule, via the Obama administration. They are the “mob”, and they just make up the law as they go.

Wrong.

I think Sharpton is a vile, racist idiot.

I think what the poster said was racist.

Huh? You're saying if I oppose segregation I must love Al Sharpton? What planet do you live on?

Resorting to a mob action or violence could be very dangerous, indeed.

But resistance of some sort is needed because the onslaught isn’t stopping with legalization of gay marriage.

We already know that because people have lost their jobs and will lose their jobs just for having the opinion that gay marriage is wrong and supporting traditional values....

Businesses will be harassed for reflecting their faith in their business.

That’s flat out not American and silence is not an option.

Live and Let Live is a good policy and I believe in its 360 degree application.

Religious people sometimes get too angry and want to fight when they need to be accepting of LGBT people, but the LGBT crowd cannot try to hurt religious people and business like they are with people like Brendan Eich losing his job as CEO of Mozilla.
