Embattled NBC News anchor Brian Williams is backing out of scheduled appearance on David Lettermans Late Show on Thursday.
That news from NBC came Sunday, a day after Williams said he was stepping away from NBCs Nightly News as the network looks into the anchors admission that he had told a false story about being on helicopter hit by a grenade while reporting on the Iraq war.
Williams had spread the story of his helicopter being under attack during a previous Late Show interview with Letterman. He apologized for the statements on Wednesday, and NBC News launched an internal investigation Friday.

When his 15 minutes are up hell be getting a “sex change”.

I still can’t figure what the big deal is. With a little
snark training from Maddow, Matthews, and O’Donnell this
Williams character would be a great fit over at
MSNBC,”the place for moonbats”.

If you watch enough videos of his various lies you won’t feel sorry for him, there is a growing collection, and in almost all of them he gives nasty jabs at the Bush administration.
Watch his interview with Brokaw.

His reputation is now shot for everything. He won’t even get to be the spokesman for buriel insurance. No Nutrisystem. Nothing. His life will be spent in obscurity. Guy’s like him don’t do well out of the spotlight. Money doesn’t fix that. Maybe he can voice evil characters in cartoons?

Even his fellow RATS have stopped defending him. They tied themselves in knots for the first couple of days, but the avalanche of lies buried them.

Even his spray-on tan is a lie.
Everything he ever reports from here forward will be subjected to scrutiny. His credibility as an anchor is shot (well any that he had left).

Who is this “Letterman” and does he still have a show?
It can’t be the same Letterman that died to me many years ago.

so a liar opts out of a show where an adulterous philanderer, who bangs the help, sits ensconced while directing snarky commentary?
meh...would rather watch "Dirty Jobs" show me how to clean my septic tank with a fork.

This is really saying to me that he is done like dinner.

hard to be sympathetic when we've been consciously lied to....while he cashes huge checks and has had tremendous influence on public opinion, and ultimately policy.
Though, I would have rather seen that sausage fingered Candy Crowley depart under these circumstances first. Williams at least affords us youtube sampling mixes of him rapping hip hop tunes.

I wish I had Photoshop skills. It would be fun to take the famous before and after pictures of Stalin by the river with the executed party member removed and add one of Brian replacing him.
