Most the Brits love reading these kind of gun related stories. Makes them feel that being unarmed is the better way to live.

Same thing happened here in San Ramon, CA when a concerned friend who lived elsewhere, called the SRPD and asked them to check on a woman resident. She made the mistake of picking up a kitchen knife and was shot to death in her own home.

As you say, never call the cops for anything. They may be useless, but they do know how to kill you!

Arm yourself and be prepared and defend yourself. After an incident, call the police ONLY after you have spoken with a lawyer.

I wonder how anyone knows how the cop announced himself.

Family: “Could you check on our relative?”

Police: “He’s dead.”

Had a minor emergency at my house recently. Thought that our toddlers had gotten into our prescription drugs (after counting pills, they didn’t). Anyways, as a caution, we got 911/MEMS rolling. Fire/Rescue showed first, then MEMS, then LRPD. I told the LRPD to stay outside on the porch and that I was not giving consent to police to come in since I wanted medics only. Kid checked out ok, and we refused ambulance transport. Doc came over and we monitored overnight. Cops said they wanted to look through the house for any dangers to the kids. I told them to get a warrant. Fire/EMT seemed amused. Cops stayed on porch and grumbled. Next: We are awaiting a doorbell ring from CPS. I’ll tell them the same thing. Get a warrant. You are NOT coming in. We can meet at my attorney’s office.

Maybe the old man could not hear the cop over all the noise from the shooting...
